Really, I feel like thats worth more uproar than their announced policies. Sure its been fixed up a little with the Xbox one. But having to pay just play online (and even people in the same household), is ridiculus, and some companies like EA who make you pay for an Online Pass. 
I'm honestly suprised so many people gobbled this up without a issue. Not if there was a difference like Online was free like games and youtube, and stuff like chat and stuff you had to pay for okay, they'll still get money that way.
Sorry but my experience with Nintendo has been fine, I don't need to talk or whatever and their able to do it for free and still gain money, Micro$$$oft.

I don't like Boycott. I just like to say I don;t pay for things I either have no interest in or a rip off.

XBL in 2001-2009 PSN(Until PS4),Steam and now NN. You can play online for Free. You have access  to Youtube,Hulu,Netflix and whatever else free as it should be. I have a free browser on my PS3 or WiiU. MS Makes you pay for freaking IE? IE!?

Even with PSN now making you pay for online Multilayer PSN+ has the best rental system. XNA is done and finished Unity is in and Sony and Nintendo stepped up so again where XBL once showed the way is behind. XBL did a lot of good for a few years but it's time it adapted to modern times.

They wont care if people boycott it. Besides, to get a quality online experience you usually have to pay for it. Saying we should boycott xbox live because it costs money is like saying we should boycott the internet, because you are paying for that too.

Except people are boycotting big ISP's where Google fiber offers it free. When you can get a better or equal experience elsewhere then why be a sucker and pay or pay more when you don;t have to or should not have to.

Google Fiber isn't totally free if you count the $300 "construction fee" for the free plan, and it's only available in 2 cities right now.

You are paying for xbox live, which is using the internet... you are already paying for. Not the same thing. Not remotely close.

This is the mind set of a consumer who has been properly trained and conditioned to believe marketing fabrications. Ms must be very pleased.

I have been enjoying service infinitely superior to xbox live for free, on my pc, for over 20 years.

I have never payed for the ability to play online games. Aside from a few free months subscriptions that came with games, I have never taken my xbox, nor my 360 online. My hands were clean, but thats not good enough. It wasnt good enough that microsoft was raping console owners, no, they had to screw over pc gamers too. Took server control away for so many games, starting with the peice of filth known as battlefield 3.

And people PAID THEM FOR IT. Disgusting.

But Ms cant get a dollar outta me. No servers, no live, I get my service for free.

You know (or should know) before you buy a console if you have to pay extra for online so it's the consumers decision in the first place, you can't buy a console and then after complain you are paying for online.

 

Xbox Live is the only thing Xbone has left to try and make more appealing than the competition but is failing hard. PS Plus offers way more value even if you have to pay for online.

 

With 360, Microsoft fanboys would defend their Xbox Live fees saying they get better servers and cross party voice chat etc. Now PS4 does all that and more.

 

PS Plus was a kick in the teeth to Microsoft and they haven't recovered or responded with anything other than "free for gold" which gave 360 owners free games that were older than time itself.

With Xbone they still haven't shown why Xbox Live is any way superior, if anything it's actually worse than PS Plus.

I would hardly call xbl "quality". Maybe the servers are better but i couldn't play anything without being called a ogre.

I should probably state that when I say quality I mean less server crashes and better account security. Online community is going to be bad no matter what game you are playing as long as people can access it. That's what I have experienced in all of the online games I have played. Personally, I find bad communities to be better because I find entertainment in making people angry and listening to the shout at me.
