Last year the Wii title Xenoblade Chronicles made news more than a year after release for GameStop setting the price of used copies of the game at $90. While this was temporary as the price was eventually lowered to $40, this led many people to speculate that GameStop had been hoarding unsold copies of the game in order to jack them up at player demand. That wasn’t exactly the case, though GameStop did capitalize on the game’s popularity. The company actually worked with Nintendo to reprint copies of Xenoblade Chronicles and Metroid Prime Trilogy in order to bring them to customers, and it looks like they’ll be doing it again for rare titles.

Yeah, I call BS. This doesn't help the players at all. They'll get publishers to reprint the games and then cut them open to sell them 'used' at a huge premium.

Why even use Gamestop when we have Amazon?

Or some importing go Play-Asia or Gamestop wants to go local retro as well..then go Play-N-Trade or local shop or internet.

Actually, I think GameStop has been doing this a bit more than just MPT and Xenoblade. I swear GameStop was responsible for at least getting Okamiden reprinted.

I have no issue with this. The only game that I wanted offthe top of my head was Prime Trilogy and I got that at $50, which was the launch price. I didn't get the cool case or the artbook, but i don't really care about that. Xenoblade may be a different issue, but I haven't seen the price they gave it for the newest shipment.

My wife got the Prime Trilogy for me too for $50.00 . I think Xenoblade was $60 or $70 ? Don't remember exactly, mine came with book and club nintendo too, which was valid. Really, I think they can set the price at whatever they want as the publisher probably doesn't have restrictions on that anymore since Gamestop are the ones paying them to get them reprinted to sell.
