the Summer's most seen film?

Both films come from respectable franchises, and each film in the series has seen high success. I honestly think this could go either way, imo. Both will probably be good.

Who cares? One is guaranteed to be rainbow and the other will be mediocre at worst (although it will most likely be amazing).

They will both have respectable box office numbers but transformers will probably win because the majority of cinema-goers are morons. The box office takings for films like ride along and need for speed prove that.

I for one, am going to pick the oddball one. Most seen movie of the summer it might not claim, but the surprise hit will probably be Guardians of The Galaxy. Everything just looks like it's lining up for it.

On the topic of these 2 movies, eh Transformers will probably be offensively bad, though the same is with Xmen just in different ways( seriously, for a series called X-MEN the fact that Wolverine's screentime is almost directly proportionate to the gross it makes until it reaches a certain point is pathetic.)

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

The Transformers series is garbage, but it will probably get more publicity than X-Man

I don't think Guardians will be huge when compared to other marvel studios films. It doesn't have the universal appeal that films like iron man do.

Also he has the most screen time because he is the leader of the xmen (not including xavier) and is the most well known and likeable character in the franchise. I've never understood why people complain about that when Hugh Jackman does such an amazing job. I agree that having a couple of xmen films without him would be good in theory but first class was so forgettable that maybe its not such a good idea.

Guardians can be huge. I mean, Star Wars is huge as a franchise and that's what GotG is aiming to try and mimick from what I've heard. Also, What exactly is universal appeal? Could you have predicted before Avatar came out that a movie about blue space monkey..things saving the environment would be the highest grossing film of all time?

Him being the leader of the X-men? I think you're forgetting Cyclops and other leader characters, but sure, he's been influential. He does do a good job, but the focus on him just irks me because there's a wide variety of other mutants they could focus on.

First Class being forgettable? I think you X-men Origins: Wolverine :P (Minus Deadpool), though The Wolverine was an improvement there.

Avatar had James Cameron behind it. His name usually indicates massive budget but also quality. Terminator,Titanic,Abyss,Aliens etc

Other Marvel films had the benefit of names everyone knew already. I never heard of Gotg before the trailer and honestly think it looks hideous.

Also hard to get Star Wars popularity. SW came out in 1977. In the 70's most film was dark and grimy. Also censors from films were lifted so a lot of raunchy stuff and just overall was a dark period for film. Star Wars brought SPFX like never seen before. A tale never seen that way before on film. It revolutionized a lot and kicked off careers.  Gotg? A 45 year old steroids wrestler painted red and green? K... CG racoons and CG we seen many times before a tree and a mini she hulk that's skinny. Sorry this just looks like a bunch of crap wee seen before in CG infested flicks. Maybe the movie will be good but I see nothing about it that revolutionizes film and CG is old hat now. Batista is a lousy actor. To be frank it looks to be of Fantastic Four levels.

Not trying to judge it early. Just first impressions are a film be at the dollar theater in 3 months after release. Not syaing that will happen just first impressions. Gotg maybe too obscure for it's own good but we shall see.

I doubt it. The last one didn't.

This year is awesome for movies. Captain America, godzilla, xmen, transformers, etc.

Sweet!

That said, transformers is one of those that everyone goes to see for the spectacle. Is I can see it being the biggest in terms of box office. Apparently they actually have a good story this time.
