Tecmo Koei Games president Yoichi Erikawa has stated the firm hopes to sell 1 million copies of Hyrule Warriors on Wii U. The topic was brought about in a new interview when Erikawa was asked about the companies fiscal year 2014 sales forecast.

In gaming, this is a first-time collaboration. As a new entry in the Warriors series, we plan to release the game Hyrule Warriors in collaboration with Nintendo in the summer of this year.

In addition to our Warriors series fan base, Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda is also a very popular series with a large fan base, and I think it will become a great new market. Because of The Legend of Zelda’s legion of fans overseas, we are aiming to sell more than one million copies worldwide.

Hyrule Warriors is set for Summer in Japan.

In all honestly this is very possible. DW is very popular in Japan and DW series often sells between 500k and 800k and with Zelda brand bring that further.

Thats actually fairly reasonable for global sales.

I dunno. I think it depends on how well they use the Zelda material. If this is just Dynasty Warriors with a Zelda skin then they're just setting themselves up for disappointment. They've got to step their game up and sell this game to the Zelda fanbase.
