So, I bought Sonic Generations for my 3DS, and I saw that it came with a Club Nintendo code. I was like, why did this come with a Non-Nintendo game? Codes are only in games published by Nintendo. But now, its with certain 3rd party games.

Anyone knows why Nintendo did this?

Well Nintendo of Japan have been doing this since launch. Probably an incentive for people to buy more third party games.

The idea behind it is that Nintendo wants to help promote 3rd party games for the 3DS, so they've decided to allow developers the option to include a Club Nintendo card if they want. I know for a fact that Tales of the Abyss, Sonic Generations,Monster Hunter 3G and a few others all have CN codes. I seriously look to this as a bright spot in the future of the 3DS.

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

Yeah. Nearly every game I've bought on the 3DS had a Club Nintendo card. Although, I haven't registered even half of them.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Not true. Only nintendo games have had them till this year, and the non-nintendo ones aren't very widespread

Not that I'm aware of. It was started around summer this year, if memory serves correct.

DQIX was published by Nintendo.
SFIV3D has one, that much I'll admit
And which Harvest moon?
