Hi guys,
Im sure this has probably been covered here somewhere but Im confused by how this actually works?
I registered the game with the unique pin code on Club nintendo.
It said wait 48 hrs to download game of your choice..
Its been almost a week and I cannot click the banner on the free wii U game offer! in the e shop. 
Is there another way to dload the free game?

Did you connect your Club Nintendo account and eShop account? And also if it was on launch night, the promotion didnt start right away.

Also, If you go the Wii U EShop, there's a video towards the bottom that tells all you need to know about linking your account and so forthIM not sure.. How do I do this?

You don't need to connect your NNID and Club Nintendo account to get the free game, but it's a good idea to do it... Go to the eShop, click "My Menu", and scroll down to settings. Click show all, and there should be an option to link your Club Nintendo account... To get the free game, you can just go to Club Nintendo on your computer, and as long as you entered your MK8 code sometime after release, there should be a banner on the website about the free game offer... Click on that, and it should be pretty easy from there.

Thanks guys have tried numerous times over and over again to link my ClubN with Eshop but KEEP getting Email address/Password incorrect and it IS NOT incorrect at all… So frustrating. I am logging into my Club nintendo acc fine.. But it won't accept to link to e shop..

Awesome. But you really should get your Wii U and CN account linked... You can get CN points for downloading games (even the free one!)... You made absolutely certain you got your password correct? Wii U requires a password with lowercase, uppercase and numbers...

was easy for me,on day mk 8 was released just typed in code,logged off,logged back in,clicked on banner,filled out survey,got code,chose game and bingo done it al straight away,no need to wait 24hrs
glad you got your free game in the end,enjoy

Do you Americans not just get a download code to redeem?
After I registered my game in Club Nintendo I selected which game I wanted Free then received the email with download code a few minutes later.

I entered my code from the eshop on club nintendo, choose my game, was directed to a survey, and the code was on my screen, and is on my club nintendo account seemingly forever now when i log in.After I registered my game in Club Nintendo I selected which game I wanted Free then received the email with download code a few minutes later.

Not even, after completing the registration I chose the game and immediatly got shown the download code
