Hey there kids. I bought the Mario kart wii u bundle last month and downloaded Wind waker. I'm enjoying the system, but I realized the social aspect of the wii u is lacking, therefore I ended up here!

I got the wii u because I had the desire to play great Nintendo games. My favorite system was nintendo 64, I remember buying the system and Mario kart 64 for my 10th birthday, back in 97. Seeing wave race for the first time blew my mind. I got into goldeneye, perfect dark, star fox, ocarina, super mario, star wars racer, pokemon snap, turok 2, diddy kong, and super smash in the following years. 64 will always have a place in my heart.

Experiencing mk8 is fantastically nostalgic. Personally shy guy and lemmy are my favorites. The details on the maps are amazing! Still can't get gold in special cup. Curse the sewers and volcano!!

I absolutely love ocarina of time and consider it one of the best video games ever made. I am currently playing through wind waker, and moments harken back to the 64 Zeldas. I am completely pleased. Toon link is great!

I also love the wii backwards compatiblity, I never personally owned a wii, so it will be great to play through the titles I've missed. I just picked up metroid 3! Loved prime, excited to start this one. Also need skyward and Mario galaxy.

Oh! And super smash coming soon. It's such a great friend hangout/party game. Super excited. Especially with the pro controller. And I really hope wario will make the roster. plus the mii fighters will be hilarious with friends.

Very excited for what the future holds for the wii u. Star fox, Zelda, metroid. The new generations of g ame systems are getting too extravagant, shoot and kill and pay $60 a month to rank last online. I'm glad I purchased my wii u to experience NINTENDO and their pedigree of superb and memorable game experiences.

More personal aspects: I live in Cleveland Ohio. I work at a store that sells music, movies, and video games. (sometimes its tough not to just buy the entire wii u catalog while I'm working).

Nice choice! You'll have some fun with Mario 3D World, ZombiU, Mario Kart 8, Shovel Knight, Hyrule Warriors, Donkey Kong, Rayman Legends, etc. It's a great console that's going to get better.

Welcome aboard!

As for old games, some you can get already on Wii U, others - like N64 games - you can always acess the Wiishop in the wii menu and get a lot of old games. Who knows when N64 games will be available on the eshop...

N64 also is very special to me. Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Wave Race, Perfect Dark, Turok 2, Banjo Kazooie and many others made me very happy! :)

Everything your post says reflects my feelings and experience right down to just buying the Mario Kart 8 bundle (except the part about Lemmy and Shy Guy, don't really care for them that much). The social aspect was indeed lacking which is why I also sought out a site like this. Though I also find I enjoy posting on Miiverse as well. Welcome!

I totally understand having a special place in your heart on a console.  I owned every console nintendo made wight the exception of the Virtual Boy.  I got the original NES in 1985 for my birthday, received the SNES also as a gift.  I then was old enough to make my own money and got the N64, Gamecube, Wii and now the Wii u.  The original NES is the one that holds that special place in my heart.

I definitely pleased with the Wii U and am excited to see what else it can produce.  I definitely hope for a new Star Fox that was one of my favorite games that wasn't a Mario Game as I love any thing Mario.

Well welcome to the forums!!
