they never cease to surprise me with this console. apparently nintendo are trying to get (whats in the title) to work on wii u, as well as an app store. this is awesome!! i think its cos they know they cant win the casual gamers with the price so they try win them over with these features.

what do you all think about this addition to wii u's features?

IF this happens it will be a technological revolution and casual gamers will definitely have to have it. I mean playing nintendo IPs, the best of third parties, and now digital media which means angry birds. Who wouldnt want this

If it has Nintendo Power magazines, I'll read EVERY DAY! I love Nintendo Power magazines. I want to read the old ones though.

not to put you down but how would this be a technological revolution? anyway this addition would defiantly appeal to the masses especially if they market it correctly

Well more of a console revolution as people wouldnt have the need for any other consoles unless they want the almost nonexistent Sony and Microsoft IPs

his point is that wii u might be the closest we've ever come to having a one console generation, not that it will be, but it will be closer to it, because in the past, the nintendo consoles havent had that good 3rd party support so they survive off the nintendo exclusives, now that we're getting 3rd party as well, we're a lot closer to one console gen. the only thing that would compel people to buy xbox720/ps4 would be some innovation (highly unlikely) or some features like apps and e books and stuff that wii u might not have. but now that we see that wii u is literally doing everything it has the potential to, the chances of a one console generation have increased.

(by "one console gen" i mean a generation where there are multiple consoles on the market but one of them can do everything the others can and more and therefore sells more than the other two put together)

It won't really be anything like that. That's a collection of classic books on a DS cartridge. According to this article the Wii U will have a proper store, meaning that modern books and magazines can be purchased while these classics will be downloadable for free. I wonder if there'll also be a Kindle app for the Wii U. There's one for pretty much every other device out there, so I won't be surprised if their is.

Good. If Nintendo suprisingly makes a deal with Amazon, this will be even better! :D

The thing that really caught my eye was Nintendo Power. Would be awesome if it was free though I doubt it.

I hope this is true! It would be amazing to have the shop channel full of a bunch of cool apps and ebooks! And ,like what you said, this might attract more people to the console, so Nintendo can still attract the casual crowd without sacrificing any part of the hardcore crowd, which is awesome too. Nintendo will also benefit well from this too! They can make a lot of money off the apps and they will hopefully come out of there financial crisis from this. I really can't wait to find out if this rumor is true!
