I always bring it to work since I work at a gas station and I work slow nights and sometimes overnights. A lot of the time in the overnight shift there are no customers for hours so I just plug mine in and play on the Gamepad since the TV at the station shows the cameras. I play for hours and it really helps pass the time.

I was wondering if anyone uses their Wii U as a portable system and what places do you bring it to?

Oh, and if the airports have a strip of plugs on the waiting to board area, I will totally plug it in and bust it out if I have a lot of time between flights.

Those pictures are pretty cool. I try and bring it everywhere I can so I can get the most out of it's half portableness.

Personally I don't take any of my home consoles (Wii U included) outside the house. But I think being able to use it as a portable is a pretty neat, non-intentional(?) feature that more people should know about.

I never have used mine outside of my home. But this thread gives me an idea when I feel the need to play some Wii U in an odd place.

Yes, I travel for my job and take it to hotels and play it all the time. Also doubles as a way for me to watch Netflix away from home.

One night at my wifi-less and tv-less apartment I plugged in my Wii U gave it wifi from personal hotspot on my phone and played games using the gamepad. not really being portable i guess... but you get the idea.

A VERY under rated feature/benefit of the Wii U.... It's like a slightly more cumbersome big laptop.  I can pick up and go in about a minute.  Put it and several disks in my backpack designed for a laptop (dell).

I wouldn't dare take it out of the house. I'm too afraid it will get damaged somehow.

I would but most cafés and stuff here don't have sockets you can use. Maybe I should go sit in the library for a couple of hours with it.
