It may be the way the trailer is cut, but Sonic Boom is looking a bit more exciting then what I've seen a couple of months back. A few of the opening shots of the environment looks pretty nice, especially the area with the really tall trees. Hopefully gameplay was polished up some. 3DS version looks pretty solid all around.

I think this was the best trailer since the reveal.

Looks good but they need to show more áreas of the game.

normally I'd get this day one, but i'll wait for a handful of reviews and gameplay footage before I buy it. sonic lost worlds was too big of a disappointment to buy another 3d sonic right away

Sonic Lost World is a fantastic game and the series true return to form since it literally is in level design and gameplay that of a 3D Genesis Sonic. Anyone who didn't get that does not get Sonic period.

Generations and Colors were good but they still relied way too much on something SOnic has NEVER EEEEEEEEVER really been about but the misconception is what Sonic is about. Speed. People just don't get it.  Gens and Colors used boost mechanic and about going as fast as possible. See that's the issue. Play a Genesis game and then play Lost Worlds and see how similar they are. Levels are branching paths with lots of platforming and obstacles. Now the goal of each level is to avoid obstacles and get a momentum going and keep that momentum and the REWARD was speed.Lost Worlds did this just like the Genesis games.

Sonic Boom has a few sins already. First after so many years since the Sonic CD US Soundtrack with the Song Sonic Boom we have need a game named that. We finally get it and it's messed up.

Sonic Booms other problem granted it's a spinoff and direct tie in to a TV show. The speed parts people like are everything wrong with Sonic games up to LW. Speed and likely all downhill with a couple loops like Sonic Advance 2 level design. At best maybe Sonic Rush. Still not much. The beat em up sections remind me much of Unleashed. Not a good thing.

Lost World used the top example of Level Design and that is why it's a proper Sonic game.

Boom even as a spinoff seems more like a Mcguffin child of Heroes and Unleashed. Two horrible games in one.

I tend to agree with Ryudo. I liked Lost World. It got a bit of a bad rap for not being "fast" however I felt it was really up to how the player decided to play. Once I was use to the controls I could move through the level and keep up speed or choose to take different routes and explore a bit. Most levels allowed you to do so. The biggest downfall IMO for Lost World were the bosses, almost to easy and most didn't offer anything that would make you go "WOW" .

not liking lost world had NOTHING to do with not going fast, I just personally found it boring compared to other 3d sonic levels (I wont say games because all the 3d sonics has some huge flaws)

I was speaking to many of the early reviews of the game. Almost every review said Sonic lost his speed and that was simply not true.

I actually, more or less, agree. My favorites were the Sonic Adventure games. They had pretty good storylines in my opinion. It almost made up for the gameplay flaws.

I have a softspot for SA because nostalgia but mechanically they are TERRIBLE  and downright broken games. Gamecube Port and HD Ports ..well HD port is the GCN game changed tectures and colors and gave more camera control so was slightly better than on DC. Still feels best to play on DC tho. I love them but they are still terrible. VA is terrible and plays floaty and little control over sonic abd level design was hold down analog forward fall asleep til the goal. Again I love them and they had a great OST. I can't say John st John (Duke Nukem) can say Big the Cat was the highlight of his career...still better than Forever tho ZING!

Found the trailer pretty meh. But then again never was much of a fan of sonic games.

Also what's with the bad audio engineering? That first cut was obvious as heck, and then the song suddenly switched to mono like 2/5 way in... really weird...

I just think this is the type of game that should have been delayed or cancelled. I mean how do you make a cryengine game look this bad? Nothing about this game looks good. I was so hyped and thought (like most people did) with big red button history this game would turn out well but DAMN!

3DS version looks much better, though.

The inspiration is directly from the TV series, so I guess that is going to be lackluster as well.  :(

At this point, Nintendo should buy the rights to Sonic and work on the games. They couldn't be any worse, and I'm pretty sure they could get the rights cheaper than Minecraft, lol.

NO just NO... but i would be down for a Retro developed Metroid using the NEW cryengine.

Nintendo and Crytek don't really fit. Nintendo is all about content over everything, Crytek is all about graphics over everything. They wouldn't get along well.

I feel like Retro doesn't need cryengine, they'll create a game that looks and feels great pretty easily without it.

Retro has their own and looks like they maybe working on another just for Wii U for a new game. Better than Cry for Wii U just because it's made for the hardware instead of having to dial it up or down(Wii had a couple games in Unreal 3 even). Also Cry and Unreal are not good for every kind of game tho people seem to think slap Cry and Unreal on anything and wham bam.

Wii U can do Unreal 4 and hell even Unity a great middleware can produce some great looking games.http://unity3d.com/showcase/gallery

Just for Metroid it's better Retro/Nintendo use something custom for the Wii U itself. Not something they have to turn up or down esp when in MP3 all those environments were not cut and paste repeat but a lot of hand making it in the game. Nintendo can make it more there not using cry or unreal.
