While not nearly as storybook as the EA and Nintendo fallout, Activision was the last of the “big three” (Ubisoft, EA being the other two) third party companies to stop putting flagship titles on the Wii U. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare looked like it would be an excellent fit on the Wii U, but alas, it was not to be. Strangely enough, Activision titles have never been available for purchase on the Wii U eShop, until now.

It was discovered yesterday that a few Activision titles that have never been available via eShop purchase have popped up for both Wii U and 3DS. Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spire for Wii U and The Amazing Spiderman 2 for the 3DS quietly crept onto the eShop available for purchase. Whether or not more Activision titles will appear on the eShop remains to be seen, but it is a curious development

I try to be a digital only guy. I was pissed when BLOPS2 and Ghost were not available on eshop. Had to buy them in stores I hate having to change disc to play a game. I guess we will see what this leads to.

Hey I go digital only too! Only time I get physical is when the game is a few weeks/months old and has dropped in price physically but not digitally.

Maybe those kind of games sell well on Wii U's eshop. And to them it's just another store for them to sell in.
