Does anyone know why the adapter requires two UBS slots at all?
If you want to do a 8-Player smash with the GC Controllers, then that could cause problems for people who opt for the digital download as most people would probably download it onto an external drive x3

the second port is for power. Don't worry, the Wii U has 4 USB ports.

Ah okay, and I know it has 4 ports, but when using two adapters for 8-Player smash, there isn't enough room for a external drive

Also I believe you can use a usb hub if needed.
I do not know if 2 adapters can be plug up tho.
It would seem harder in the os to keep track of which gc is 1 and which is 5.
But you can message nintendo and they will rely in a day.

Good point. I suppose one solution would be to put other stuff from the internal to the external drive, have Smash Bros on the internal and unplug the external drive whenever you play 8 players with GC controllers.

Also, that might only be possible for the premium SKU not the basic (luckily I have the premium ZombiU one

What I intend is to use a multiport USB charger like this one and connect the data cables for the controller adapter and USB drive to the WII U while having both their power cables (along with the charger for the Pro controller) connected to the powered hub.
