From Media Create for Nov 10th - 16th: (Japan Release)

 [WIU] Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker <ACT> (Nintendo) {2014.11.13} (¥3.996) - 28.025 / NEW

Hopefully this game can be at 250k after it releases across the board. I'd assume NA should double that opening figure on release week, perhaps 50-60k. EU and Australia should have it close to 250k total by the 1st week in January since they release Jan 2nd and 3rd.

I wonder what expectations are for the new IP from Nintendo.

I know I'm planning on getting a copy. So there's that. I must say, I really expected Captain Toad to be closer to 50k in JP.

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

All I stated was that I wonder what nintendo expects from this game. Clearly regarding sales as the OP has the debut numbers from Japan listed.

I will be picking up too. Even before the price of $39.99 was announced. I am excited for it. Looks challenging enough and the variety of levels looks good to. I was also thinking the numbers would be 20 or 30 percent higher.

Technically it's not a new IP since Nintendo already owns Toad property but I still consider it to be. Reusing the SM3DW engine and some assets should of helped keep dev costs down. The  graphics look even more beautiful, not sure if that is just engine polish or perhaps since the levels are a bit smaller scale compared to SM3DW.

Sorry. I'm accustomed to the days where a certain member would post a whole story and just say something off the wall to fit outside the spam requirement. I thought you were asking us.

I think this game WILL be a success. If it isn't, maybe they can milk it on 3DS.

Well, I think my wife is getting me this game for Christmas, so it will be a fun game to play around the holidays for sure.

Well it wasn't really a game people wanted, so i'm not too suprised by the sales. It was probably also a cheap game to make so it should make profit even with 100k sales.

I would of thought the numbers would be a little higher in Japan, but I'm getting a copy on launch day.

Japan is always low on consoles unless it's some major game. Console market is struggling in Japan. US will be better.

Given that it has been two years and there have only been six Nintendo themed games, if you like Nintendo titles and characters, this is a no brainer. I think just about all of them look pretty cool from here on out.

Plus the intro tune is so catchy!

Can't say I'm surprised...honestly thought this was an eShop title at first, couldn't believe it when it was revealed to be a full-price physical title.

Most of the time, I completely disagree with your posts but yea, the first sentence of this post really sums it up. That and considering how bad Japan's console market is at the moment, not surprised. I think it will do well over here in the states though. I'd figure around Pikmin 3 to DK:TF numbers.

This seems like a game that had amazing potential for Ninty to experiment with cross-buy games and still be released at a $40 price point and come for both Wii U and 3DS...in any other scenario this game seems like almost a troll for the price they're asking...if it was going to be standalone then it should have been a $19.99 e-shop game tops.

I cannot wait to get this, I have been watching the videos and will be a day one purchase for me.

The only thing Nintendo is doing wrong is letting the UK and Europe get it after Christmas. I think they have dropped the ball with this one

For software sales i would use Famitsu, as they count those download cards aswell.

It doesn't improve much but it's still better: 29.985.

And with the regular downloads, it's above 30.000.

It's not great, but there's a chance the game will rise in sales with the release of Smash, not to mention the holidays.
