Turok 2: Seeds Of Evil was my first fps. Played it to death on my N64 as a child. I remember digging the graphics, music, and gore haha shooting a Primagen in the torso with a shotgun and seeing a hole right through him was pretty dang cool.

But superficial things aside, I remember playing each level over and over because the controls and gameplay where really good and engaging. Plus the 4 player multiplayer was soooo much fun. Wide array of weapons made every playthrough different.

TUROK 2 forever

Mine was probably Wolfenstein 3D. I saw it on a computer set up at the local flea market and I stood there watching in awe at the graphics and blood.

I got to try it after someone else was done trying the game and I loved it.

I even have it on my steam library today and I still go back and play it same with the other games of its kind like quake, doom, shadow warrior, duke nukem and rise of the triad.

Lots of great input and it's neat to see what some of the 1st FPS games people were introduced with.

Novalogic, the company that developed and published my favorite FPS game is virtually nonexistent now. The next entry that was being worked on was Delta Force Angel Falls but it's most or less vaporware now.

When I learned to build my first PC (the first computer I ever owned), bought a gfx card with a game bundled in called ... UNREAL.

Aptly titled.

The graphics were far ahead of its time. And this was a while after it came out originally.

I was so spoiled by the visuals, that I thought something was wrong with half life and never got into Quake.

Eventually I sat down with Half Life

As a poor college student, I didn't really have money, so I either bought two or three year old games or I was given them by friends who were played out.

It turned out that as much as I enjoyed Unreal's visuals, Half-Life was by far the better game. And it looked pretty good at the time. A bit less texture heavy and effects not as abundant. But good.

As the years went by and I was exposed to more and more games, became more fluent in computer hardware, and had real money to spend, I began to appreciate how great the original half life was.

For the technology of its day and the time it existed in with few pioneers before it, I'd have to say it was the best fps I've played.

Certainly others now are superior. But they had Half Life and others to build upon.

Hopefully Valve gets around to making a Half Life 3 sometime soonish. 2 was ok. But didn't really outdo the first outside of audio/visual spectacle (though the gravity gun was pretty dang cool).

Also, perhaps because of nostalgia... I do hope a proper Unreal game comes out that doesn't limit itself to a glorified tech demo.

My First FPS was wolfenstein 3D.

Favorite would be 007 on N64. Destiny on PS4 might just take that away tho. I can't get enough of it.

I think Doom was my first. As for my favourite, either L4D2 or Quake III Arena.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.
