pretty much any usb drive should. Just make sure you have no important data on it or the Wii U will format it.

it should be, but if it doesn't have it's own power adapter you will most likely need to get what's called a "Y-Cable" so it can plug into two usb ports, as the Wii U doesn't end enough power to each individual port.
