Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

I'd probably have to go with Digimon World DS. Sure, everyone thinks Digimon is a lame Pokemon knock-off but I've always loved the series and Digimon World DS was a great game. I liked it because of the nostalgia I felt when playing the game. Truth be told I watched Digimon before Pokemon so Digimon has a special place in my heart. I would recommend the game to people because its fun and inexpensive.
I remember playing Digimon World 1 many times at my uncle's
I loved it, even if I didn't really understand how to play!
That and Spyro are the only things I cared about on his PS1, though XD

Sadly, only when I was younger...WOOT! Its good to see another Digimon fan.
Though I honestly wouldn't mind getting back into it; it has many upsides above Pokemon, such as the more advanced Evolution system and more humanoid monsters...
Now if only my computer were good enough to run a PS1 emu...

(Famicom Detective Club 2: Tale of the Girl in Back)
Very fun game, if... text-based adventure games are your thing.
Nice graphics for a 'SNES' game, and a decently long title, with a gripping story.
Think... Eh... Hotel Dusk-y.
Nobody I personally know can get into those kinds of games.
If you enjoy the Ace Attorney games, I couldn't recommend this hard enough.
Also, Zelda 2.
I love it. I hated it. It grew on me once I played it as a real RPG.
No one likes the title because it's different.
EDIT:
Also MANIAC MANSION!!
NES version. Dave's Theme.
I need to say no more.

The only other person I know that plays Dwarf Fortress is the guy that showed it to me, and I've never met anyone in real life that plays Stick Online.
Which is a shame, as they are both great games, but I understand why. Dwarf Fortress is complicated as anything, and Stick Online is a small Indie game.
