Even through brand new, are there any scratches, smudges on the disc? Were the game discs working before hand?

Also, if you eject a game disc without completely exiting out of the software it can give you an error if trying to insert another disc.

Have you tried turning off the console completely and booting back up?

hi Sorcerer12 checked the discs for scratches all clean and they were in use before hand I think that taking the discs out before exiting properly may be the problem will unplug everything leave it overnight and see what happens in the morning

thanks for the help and lets hope it works

I do remember having a similar problem with my ps2 and it was the laser that was out of line can this happen with the wiiu??

I suppose any disc drive could potentially have an issue like that however I know it's not widely common at least regarding the Wii U. If you continue having problems I would suggest contacting Nintendo Support directly.
