A free update will also be released on 10th February for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS that will enable amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. Collection to be used with the new systems.

I suspect the dongle for the OG3DS will be released early spring.

Guess I'll start training my amiibos on the 3DS version whenever I get a N3DS. It'll be a good way to build up hours for the "50 hours in Smash" challenge that I haven't beaten yet.

I don't see the real point in the amiibo done for the 3ds.
It kinda kills a selling point of the new 3ds.

But I'm hoping for some better amiibo suppose. Smash seems like your just training a cpu to battle.
While other games have some unlocks. But some people will be made that they need to buy an amiibo for that.thats kinda like micro transaction

I think code name steam has the most unique support by adding the fire emblem characters in game when you scan the amiibo. Changes up gameplay and your playing as the character. Finding the fe amiibo though will be tricky and could be pricey... Unless Nintendo makes them more available... Which they should.
