This week’s Media Create sales for Japan was released a little bit later than usual, thanks to all that went on this week. However, this is the first full week of sales since Xenoblade Chronicles X released in Japan last week, so we can see how much of an impact the release of the game had on Wii U sales. Before release, Wii U sales hovered around the 6k mark, but this week they’re up to 23k. Japan has a nice Xenoblade Chronicles X bundle, so it’s no surprise that we’ve seen a large jump in console sales for the RPG.

Despite the large jump, Xenoblade Chronicles X debuted at number three on the charts, with Puzzle & Dragons on 3DS taking the top spot and the second going to Dragon Quest X on Wii U, which likely contributed to the large number of console sales this week, as well. Still, it’s a good week for Nintendo, as for once the Wii U sits at the top of the hardware chart above PlayStation 4 and the Vita.

I'm just surprised XCX caused such a boost!
Good indicator for Nintendo to invest in more core games that japanese fans like.
