Wii U is top selling console in Japan, event beat out 3ds this week.
Also, the Wii U has been under 10,000 almost weekly for a very long period of time. Splatoon is great, great for gamers, Wii U, and Nintendo's software and hardware overall.

That's one awesome performance!
Not only didn't the game's sales collapsed, but HW managed to go up again. Did MK8 acomplished that?...
And all this coming from Japan, makes it even more surprising.

For Japan yes. For comparison it's almost like MK8 1.2 mill in the US first week. It's pretty good. It's not Monster Hunter or Dragon Quest Numbers but few things are over there.
