E3 is just around the corner and we’ve heard some interesting information about the upcoming show. Yesterday Retro Studios teased their possible presence on the show floor with a cryptic tweet and today, it seems Nintendo has filed a trademark for the words “Diddy Kong” in Europe. There was a rumor that went around stating a new Diddy Kong Racing game could be showcased, but we’re not sure of that considering the popularity of Mario Kart 8.

 

We’ll have to wait until E3 to find out what Nintendo is doing with the trademark, if anything, but do you want to see another Diddy Kong game? If not a racing game, would you be happy with the return of a platforming Diddy Kong game similar to Donkey Kong Country 2?

Aaaand I'm already disappointed. This sounds to me like Retro is gearing up for yet another Donkey Kong Country, which we don't need at this point.

As much as i liked DKR on my N64, i wish they would try something new.

 

I do think they are showing something at E3 but only if there's room for a post 1Q 2016 reveal, 'cause with the recent comments it seems that new games to be announced will coming in that period.
