Actually look closely at the front of the controller there is a Black Sensor bar thing.

What, you mean near the top of the controller? That's been there I thought. The camera.

Oh you mean the IR device on the BACK of the contoler by the triggers? That wasn't always there?

Nope, if you look up pictures of the Wii U pad it is not there.

Pause the video at 1:20 and look at the front.

So you're calling the underside of the controller the front? ...Alright. That's cool man. And the part facing the gamer is the back?

Anyway, that's for the Infra Red interactivity. The DS's Have it too. There have been some pretty cool rumors about IR tech for Wii U for some time now, including (but not limited to) The wii U controller acting as a universal remote controller for things like your BluRay player, TV, Stereo. etc.

but I think you're right, I've never noticed it actually there before.

Folks concerned that the controller is wired, please read:
At 1:31 you clearly see the box just connects to a Coax cable, which implies it's just a devkit, and the final design is still likely to be wireless.
If it's not going to be wireless, why make it look like a box connected to a coax cable all ugly-looking?

I think it looks great as far as 2D games go. the character sprites' edges are all very clean. I love the backgrounds and the art style they've chosen.
The HD/3D/360degree environment/Zelda stuff is on it's way. I'm sure of it.

That's it, I'm buying a Wii U at launch. All the new features, improving one of the best platformers I've ever played.... yes please.

But ya know, in a sense this leak is the best thing that could have happened for the game. Being buried at E3 would have been bad.

This looks awesome! I never had the pleasure of buying and playing Rayman; origins, but I played the demo of said game and it was fun! I like the implemention of NFC in the video. Lastly, I think this game might, just might, b a Wii U exclusive...

Considering the video said "Wii U exclusive features", I assume that it means that it'll be a multiplat, but have some cool tablet and NFC stuff for Wii U only.

But regardless, definitely buying this when it's out. Hope it'll be a launch title.

Probably. Ubisoft said it isn't the final product, but they would be stupid not to have this stuff in the final product.

"The wireless version of the dev kits, we’re told, won’t be released to developers until June."

Does that mean the final dev kit will be available in June, thus proving ALL the spec rumors wrong?

I cant say for sure but seriously it wouldn't surprise me. There was a quote where there were certain things in the 3ds that wasn't final until like 6 months before launch. But hardware is differentnt that usually one of the first things that gets nailed down. Usually certain features are put in closer to launch. But like I said thisis easily the biggest and most important launch in their history so anything is a go. IMO

Well, if this goes well, this will be the selling game for me.
If it is nearly as good as Origins, then it will be an amazing game. The implementation of the rabbids actually works for the game, which is amazing.
If it's anything like the regular rayman games, you will start out somewhat powerless and gain them over time. I am hoping for more powers (like lum throwing in Rayman 2), more/possible gear, and interactive characters (like the Moskitos or Sam the Snake).

As for the NFC and figure stuff, it looks cool, I just hope it isn't too expensive. But if they actually are putting in AC or Ezio, you can probably expect some old school (and new) rayman characters (like the magician or Mr. Dark). Plus, there would be a very high chance of a splinter cell figure, as it is popular and rayman has already had a crossover along with in-game references.

The only downside is that I hope that the addable characters aren't too overpowered.

Damn that was great. Curious about those statue things....Is that a new type of DLC purhaps?

Whats NFC Technology?

HOLY MOLY! EVERYONE MISSED WHAT WAS AT 2:02! WAS THAT AN ASSAISINS CREED FIGURINE? YUP. IT WAS. ASSAISIN'S CREED WILL MAKE USE OF NFC TECHNOLOGY. PLEASE EVERYONE WATCH THE CLIP AT 2:20. This will allow players to drop characters instantly into games. Think addition characters that you can unlock in games just by sitting the NFC enabled figurine onto the controller...POKEMON, gotta catch the all for real this time...Or how about Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat Figurines...I'd love to collect a Barraka NFC figurine:)

The Wii U dev kit was completed quite some time ago....like 3 months or so ago. If they wanted to the could launch Wii U whenever now. Just waiting for the games to be made pretty much. Also might be some changes to the looks of the system/controller. But Dev Kit is finished.

"The wireless version of the dev kits, we’re told, won’t be released to developers until June."

Does that mean the final dev kit will be available in June, thus proving ALL the spec rumors wrong?

[E3 2012] Nintendo gets it's throne back.
