But look at what they searched, Google bolds the words you search in the results.
Wii U is bolded.

Wii U may well be worth $300 and lots more. The machine's essential unique selling point is the touch-screen controllerwhich comes jammed with groovy technical gizmos, including accelerometer, gyroscope, camera and Near Field Communication (the thing that allows for augmented reality gaming). Try buying a six-inch touch-screen anything for $300 right now, and you'll wind up with some iffy iPad knock-off.

As adroit from neogaf says, NFC has nothing to do with Augmenting Reality.

How did they mess that up? I thought IGN also covered phones and I thought they would have known what
NFC does. Pretty much every kid in London has experienced a form of NFC (its not the same thing but the same principles of using RFID cards) when travelling on the bus.

I think they thought it counted that the rabbit got done put into rayman legends by putting a figure on the screen.
That's not augmenting reality, that's virtualising a figure.

AR is when you take something in a game and place it into reality(on screen usually, lawl).
