I was one of the few who liked the older design, I find that circle pads are just more comfortable. But I guess I'm alright with this one.

New one. It just seems more practical.

Also, this is absolutely indisputably the greatest controller of all time, and I really wish Nintendo would have just stuck with it instead of fooling around with the Wiimote...

If they changed the triggers to Xbox 360 analog types, added another z button on the left side, and changed the c-stick to another analog then it would be the perfect controller.

The new one most def. the old one was ok, but I feel analogs are just better for console gaming. Sliders work on the 3DS though.

I definitely prefer the newer design. As for which of Nintendo's previous controllers is the superior; if I had to chose between the traditional controllers it would be the GameCube. However, the Wii remote is in a class all it's own here. Both Motion based and traditional control pads have there pros and cons for different types of games. While games like Xenoblade arguably play better with a traditional controller, a game like Skyward Sword would be near impossible without Wii Motion Plus. So basically my opinion on that stands at GameCube for traditional and Wii (due to lack of competition) for motion.

The Wii Classic Controller Pro is the best controller I've ever felt.

Definitely the new design, the analog sticks, and the new button placements are perfect, and I LOVED the GameCube controller.

OOPS! scratch one vote for OLD and add a vote for NEW. I accidentally voted for old.

as for the older controllers, I voted for GC, because of the dual analog action, but I think the SNES was the most solid.

I definitely prefer the newer design. It looks more comfortable to the hands.
As for the best Nintendo controller and what I believe to be the best controller of all time, the GameCube controller.

However...

^ This.

I like the new Upad design better and as for the older controller designs I'd definitely have to go with the Gamecube Controller. I can't imagine how I'm going to play the new Smash Bros game without it. :(

I prefer the old design, I don't know if I'll be comfatable with the anolog stick and the ABXY buttons with such a flat controller. Out of the previous console controllers, I prefer the Wii one because of the motion control and all those accesiories! xD

Without a single trace of doubt, I prefer the new uPad design over the prototype. The analog sticks are more suitable for shooting, racing... any type of genres would be a perfect fit.

My apologies, but I haven't touched the GameCube controller in my life since the last Nintendo system I had owned was the Nintendo 64.

Is it me or are the shoulder buttons slightly more triggerish now?

Anyway, Slide pads LOOK better, but I think Sticks will be more practical.

So the old design is the one with the analog sticks right because that's how it is being presented to me.

I prefer the old design (Analogue stick)

The patent shows the old design (sticks) has better grip than the circle pad controller

The pictures clearer say New and Old above them, I think Nintendo must've had both designs already, and just chose one after getting the reactions from developers.

My View:

I like both of the controllers, but I voted for the 'new' one because the buttons have better positioning.

The GC controller was nigh-on perfect, and I disagree with the people who say the triggers should be replaced with the 360's, the GC's can be used for 2 functions, like in rogue squadron where they were pressure sensitive for acceleration and you clicked them in for a form change (like the X-wing opening/closing it's wings). The only real problems I had with the controller was that the Z-button was too small and so was the C-stick, which is an analogue stick anyway so I don't get why some of you say it isn't.

I agree with this. They do look more like triggers but I voted for the new one. Also I always did like the GC design because it felt so....Right....
