Kotaku was able to get a hands on on the system itself. Here is an image of the back:

That is an awesome find! Thanks for sharing! It is nice To see we get to see the back of the console now :) It seems like Nintendo never shows the other sides to consoles or handhelds until the bitter end of waiting, or we find it out from someone else, such as this. Anyway, nice find, and I am pretty sure he got his hands on the controller to because it seems to be in the picture above in the very left side you can see the ZL button. But anyway, nice find!

That looks cool and really easy to set up! I wonder what the USB ports will be used for..

The console is able to use external usb drives to transfer data into it.

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

Umm... same as the Wii >_> it's for Wii Speak/USB Keyboards/USB Microphones. It's gotta have them to be backward compatible. :) But also I'm sure there'll be new peripherals that use them.

Also, its pretty much exactly the same as the Wii's hookups. XD

as already said external drives n such, but seeing as the Wii U controller has built in rechargeable batteries we'll probably see either a direct lead from the controller to a usb port or a docking station that'll hook up to the system.

Yeah, I get that they are trying to show off the controller and all, but they could at least make the system look a little more appealing :/

Something a lot of people are missing are the vents. I seem to have a good amount of vents to help cool the system which is good since it will have newer technology in it.

I am guessing it is not the final design. I am thinking USB Ports will be used for charging the controller and for using a USB drive. Also for extra accessories.

It's a good thing that Nintendo aren't skimping on those. It seems the system runs on a Radeon 4xxx-type card, and those little beasties run hot, as powerful as they are.

USB hard drive support was confirmed in the press kit.

I like it, and USB ports on the front is a nice addition. Overall it looks good, not too big, fairly neat looking, just a nice overall console.
