Since there are no threads speculating upon the CPU I guess Ill make one. We know that it shares a connection with power 7 technology and a possible customized broadway(wii CPU) chip for backwards compatibility unless it's being emulated. It's being developed by IBM, and the clock speed is "a little lower than the ps3. It's widely rumored that the CPU is weak in comparison to the gpu with the gpu supposedly taking away tasks. This can be somewhat confirmed by Nintendo partnerships with companies such as havok whose specialty is gpu physics. With a confirmed dsp audio processor it also frees up more strain from the CPU. Little else is known except for 32 mb of edram. Many rumors on purported specs havecranged from 3-4 cores with the most recent elevating around a tri core. It's expected to incorporate 4 threads per core resulting in 12-16 threads total.
I'm betting on three things.
- a 3-core processor capable of 4 threads/core - 12 threads
- a 3-core processor capable of 3 threads/core - 9 threads
- a 4 core processor capable of 2 threads/core - 8 threads
I can't imagine that Nintendo would allow their processor, especially with that advanced OS to have 6 threads or less.
