am I the only one here who doesn't like final smashes?

I don't see how smash balls hurt the game. You can just turn them off. I usually play with items off, but I'm glad final smashes are in the game for when I do turn them on.

There could be 4 Final Smashes, one for each Special Move, for example.
Ganondorf
Neutral: Dark Wave (The move he uses in OoT, like Mario's Final Smash.)
Side: Ganon Charge (The Final Smash is Brawl.)
Up: ??? (couldn't think of one.)
Down: Transform (Ganondorf turns into the Ganon from OoT.

My roommate hates them. And the worst part is that all of his friends he plays with back home insist on having final smashes on every round.

There could be 4 Final Smashes, one for each Special Move, for example.

Side: Ganon Charge (The Final Smash is Brawl.)

That's actually a really cool idea. That way you could activate 1 of 4 possible final smashes bases on the direction you choose.

Nope. imo, Final Smashes are a bad addition, as they completely ruin the flow of the matches, and anything that gives one player a (mostly random) temporary major advantage is generally a bad thing.

I really doubt that. Not only would that be including characters from a 3rd party, but it would creating a cross-over fighting game. Nintendo doesn't do cross-overs. Besides. I like smash the way it is. It doesn't need to be like SF (except for the lack of tripping in SF =|).

I respect your opinion, but this topic is about the Three Final Smash System and not some sort of poll that asks "Do you think another 3rd party character will be included in SSB4?" If you have any Final Smash ideas that would relate to the topic itself, that would be great. Thank You. (:P)

am I the only one here who doesn't like final smashes?

This topic doesn't ask "Do you like or hate Final Smashes...pick Yes or No" It suggests that you support the topic itself. If you have any ideas for our make-believe Three Final Smash System, please share them. This is a topic for creative minds. I ask that if you post in this topic, it would be to support it. Thank You. (:P)

You know, that's a GREAT idea, but I decided to go with a more restricted idea..."THE FIGHTERS CAN ONLY CHOOSE 1 OF THE 3 FINAL SMASHES BEFORE THE MATCH BEGINS". I figured it would keep things somewhat familiar with Brawl so those that like to complain about change wouldn't have anything to complain about. LOL!

Nope. imo, Final Smashes are a bad addition, as they completely ruin the flow of the matches, and anything that gives one player a (mostly random) temporary major advantage is generally a bad thing.

If you would please...only post responses that would HELP the topic itself...not oppose it. This is a topic for creative minds. If you don't have any ideas or suggestions for the idea itself, then please refrain from posting. (:P)

As far as your response is concerned,"....Final Smashes are a bad addition, as they completely ruin the flow of the matches, and anything that gives one player a (mostly random) temporary major advantage is generally a bad thing." I really don't agree. As long as you possess the SKILLS REQUIRED, you can avoid just about EVERY Final Smash. It just takes practice. I can honestly tell you that I can dodge (pressing DOWN and the GUARD BUTTON) Link's Tri Force Slash. It's difficult, but possible. I'm more of the type of player that looks to challenge their skills and always looks for a way to get better. Heck, if your opponent gets a random Final Smash (a PITY Final Smash) after losing a life that should let you know that you are completely owning your competition.(:D)

I will now like to ask you to keep your posts on the subject of the Three Final Smash System please. If you have any ideas that you would like to share with us, don't hesitate to do so.

Wario

Final Smash 1:
Wario man is back from Brawl. This time with even more unexpected minor changes to wario's moveset.

Final Smash 2:
Atomic fart. Way bigger then even the most charged up wario waft, the atomic fart is a massive methane mushroom cloud that sends enemies flying. Any enemy that isn't KO'd by the blast is dazed for 5 seconds from the awful stench.

Final Smash 3: Backed-up Wario. Wario grows into a giagantic ball and can roll around the stage. Wario can be turned slowly and the ball takes a while to accelerate, but anybody it touches gets launched. Wario lets out tiny farts and slowly shrinks back to normal size. The smaller he gets from expelling gas, the faster he moves, but the less damage he does on contact.

VERY NICE! I can tell you put some thought into this one! (:P)

I like the balance you included in each move so neither would be TOO overwhelming.

I think it's important for final smashes to either:
A. Be avoidable in some fashion
OR
B. Require some amount of skill or planning to be used effectively

In Brawl, they did a pretty good job of those two things.

That would be totally awesome. But if the new smash has say 50 characters, there would be 2500 (..I think) smash combinations. Talk about a lot of work!

HOLY CRAP!!! HECK YEAH!!!

I guess it's a little late to say that we've run out of ideas? LOL!

Well, I'll try my best to keep it going. Who will I do next?

Hmmm, let me think...

**Currently Editing Movelist**

Chun-Li

Basic Combo Attack: Hyakuretsukyaku - Rapidly tap or Hold the "A" button to unleash a flurry of kicks. This move is stationary and she doesn't move forward.

Special Attacks *NOTE* All Special Attacks are done on the Final Destination stage for a better understanding of move attributes like distance and ect.

Neutral B: Kikouken - This is Chun-Li's basic fireball. It will have two attributes in a SSB game. Tapping the "B" button once will have her shoot the fireball with one hand (traveling about half way across the screen) allowing her to walk behind the fireball. Holding down the "B" button will have her shoot the fire ball with two hands. This form will result in an overall stronger fire ball, but it only travels about 2-3 feet in front of her (Almost kinda looks like Mario's Forward Smash Attack, but not quite since the fireball travels a small distance).

Up B: Tenshokyaku - Chun-Li jumps into the air at an angle while performing multiple spinning kicks. This will be Chun-Li's most basic means of recovery.

Forward/Back B: Spinning Bird Kick - This is arguably Chun-Li's most famous attack of all time. Chun-Li, propels forward performing multiple spinning kicks while upside down. This could be used as another means of recovery, but it leaves her EXTREMELY vulnerable to any type of attack that is placed directly above her...for example...a Meteor Smash AKA a Spike.

Down B: Hazanshu

Final Smash 1: Kikousho - This is Chun-Li's Super fireball from the Street Fighter series. This fireball does not travel, but it encases Chun-Li in a HUGE orb of energy making her unapproachable or untouchable. This move only does damage to opponents surrounding her or in her vicinity and has no special attributes like Ryu's second Final Smash (The vacuum effect). Chun-Li is unable to move during the duration of this attack. 50% Damage

Final Smash 2: Houyokusen - This is probably Chun-Li's most used Super Move out of the entire Street Fighter series. Basically, she dashes forward with a flurry of kicks then switches to her other leg and dishes out another flurry of kicks then switches back to the other leg and kicks her opponent into the sky all in one fluid motion. That's how it works in the Street Fighter games, but I see it being performed differently in a Smash Bros. game. She dashes forward with a single kick (only about half the screen) and if this kick doesn't connect with anyone, the animation will stop...pretty much you FAILED to hit your target and you get no reward. If you do manage to land the first hit, then the animation continues and she goes into her flurry of kicks ect. ect. The final kick will send her opponent(s) skyward flying off screen. I'll also add in this: The faster you mash your attack buttons, the more kicks/damage your opponent(s) receives. 60-80% Damage

Final Smash 3: Shichisei Senkukyaku - This move (to MY knownledge) was first seen on the Wii fightning game Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Chun-Li, propels forward (Full screen) at an alarming speed and delivers a single, devastating, critical kick. This move will have the same effect as Zelda's Light Arrow, but Chun-Li will not go across the screen unless you trap an opponent or opponents in her line of sight. This move has THREE PARTS to it: No.1- Chun-Li begins the move with a start up animation and during this start up is when she's able to catch someone. If no one is there, the move doesn't come out. No.2- If you successfully catch an opponent in her line, she will propel forward at a blinding speed. No.3- Chun-Li then reappears on the opposite side of the screen, and you will see kanji appearing across the screen right before her opponents are sent flying off the screen. The BIG drawback to this move is that you MUST HIT SOMEONE or else you will undoubtedly propel to your doom...EXPLODING on the side of the screen after you miss. 150% Damage

MARIO:

1. Mario barrage
Mario goes into the background as sprite mario's appear around the screen jumping into enemies for 10 seconds. each contact with a sprite mario is 12% dmg

2:Fire mario:
An extension to "Mario finale". Mario pulls out a fire flower and turns into fire Mario for 30 seconds, and all of his attacks are 3x stronger and his B move turns into a charge move when fully charged he will use his giant fireball and depending on how close to end of the smash is it will be smaller. But if you start charging in less then 5 seconds of activating the smash it will instantly fire full size

3. Giant Power star:
Mario is completly shaded in with rainbow colors for 30 seconds. HE is 3x faster and deals 80% of dmg when he comes in contact with players he can't use attacks or pick up items but he can jump 3 times and higher by 30%.

Sorry if this sucks. :)

Plusle and Minun

Final Smash 1:The duo jump around the stage with Electricity flying around them.

Luigi
1.Negative space
Same as brawl

2.Poltergust
Luigi pulls out his Poltergust 3000 and starts firing random elements in front of him (Water,Fire,Ice,Electricity just for fun)for 30 seconds Which varies in DMG from 20% - 35% per hit. His movements are similar to Spicy curry and when he uses B+up He fire downward launching him into the air.

3.Mr. L
Inspired by Super Paper Mario, Luigi will call his giant robot head of himself and jump into it. His robot will appear in the background where you can move him around but he always face the screen. Here luigi can fire Lazers(60%), Missiles(40%), and slow Cannon balls(50%). When the smash is over he will Fly towards the screen at highspeed crashing the robot and causing an explosion size of 3 bombombs but with dmg of 120%.

what do you think?

Samus
1. Hypermode
Samus goes into hypermode and now her attacks are 5x stronger with the exception of her charge which is completly changed. By charging your beam it shoots mini hyper particles for 5 seconds with a full charge each particle deals 3% DMG(but theres alot if you ever played metroid prime 3) Her suit falls off since hypermode instead of damaging samus.

2. Shoop da whoop
Same as brawl

3.Gunship
Samus calls her ship down which fires missiles onto the stage but you view the firing from inside the ship (Similar to snakes) but you shoot rapidly and each missile deals 80% but you fire 8 missiles rapidly before reloading. Reload twice.

Zero suit samus:
Yes since she's considered a different character she gets her own set up. You can choose different smashes seperatly from normal samus

1. On the run.
Zero suit Samus jumps into the background behind the standing platforms as space pirates run around the map for 20 seconds, DMG is 25% on contact

2.The Chozo gift
The chozo ghost appears firing lightning bolts into the stage similar to pickachus for 30 seconds. DMG is 50% Upon contact with the bolts. At the end zero suit samus is given her power suit back.

3.Gunship Red alert
zero suit Samus drops a distress becon to her Gunship which is now desperate to save a suitless samus so this time is hovers in the background firing forward into the stage, it is now armored with shields for Zero suit samus (20% on contact), 8 capacity rapid fire missiles (80% each missile), and 2 super missiles (110% on direct impact). At the end of the smash the gunship flies into zero suit samus and she reappears as "Samus" from the top of the screen.

personally i hate all final smashes like super wario or giga bowser. they're always overpowered, have too long of a duration, and basically cannot be dodged. Its supposed to be an attack, not a powerup
