- Nintendo retail reps are talking to stores to give Wii U a big retail presence
- expect big demo units, prominent placement, and training workers to explain the controller

This would be awesome, I want to try out the Wii U! Nintendo is really pushing for people to have knowledge of the Wii U.

That would be really cool. I want to try it out, I probably could have went to the Nintendo show in NYC for the Wii U! To bad I had no clue about it!
I really want to try the system out, hopefully they do this.

Must only apply in America, since paying for more favourable placement in stores is illegal in the rest of the world.
Isn't the training thing normal for a new console release? Of course they did the same for the 3DS.

I wouldn't be surprised. Have a couple of huge TV screens with the logo "Wii U" above it, and when people walk by the electronics station in walmart, they think, "what's this?" so they ask, and the workers tell them how it's a brand new Wii console! So they immediately buy it for their little Jimmy, with a nice copy of NSMBU.

It could work.

- Vita's current market situation is both hurting and helping Wii U with dev support
- some devs are moving Vita projects to Wii U, some devs are afraid to work on Wii U after Vita's rough start

If it is before the actual launch of the system that would be great, and would love an opportunity to play it early. As for having it after the system launches it will be good to rope in the casual gamer, but won't impact many of us all that much.

Exactly! all the 3ds demos in the stores by my house are shot to crap, the start/select/home buttons are all busted in and some of the screens are cracked....

most likely right before or durring the displays will start appearing
if its anything like the 3ds, it should already have a large retail presence, but the extra explaining done by trained guys will definetely help spread the word that the wiiu is a a normal console with a tablet like controller, not just a controller or something, or something like the wii add on, etc

They need to have at least 3 demos.

ZombiU, Super Mario, and Panorama View.

The 360 and PS3 have 4 demos.

The 360 has MLB, NBA. Forza, and some other game.
The PS3 has Uncharted, Happy Feet, PES, and MLB.
