I was thinking that if you want to play for example mario kart, it seems that one has to use the wii U controller, and others has to use a normal controller if nintendo wont make the wii u controller buy-able. And if the wii u controller has extra-content on the screen, i would call the player 1 cheater.

we already talked about making an alternate controller becouse it would be to expensive with another master controller, and i think i got an idea that maybe would work.

release an wii u controller.....LITE!!! it wouldnt have the camera, sensor bar, mic and other stuff a second player wouldnt need.

i made a pic of my idea together with @Nintendofreak247's idea with mario kart.

However, i dont know if removing some features would still make it affordable, what do you guys think?

they could do it like double dash with 2 players! what i mean is, one person is using the Wiimote in the wii wheel, and the other uses the controller. The guy (player 1) using the wheel sees the normal Mario Kart view in front of him on the TV screen, and the guy (player 2) using the Wii U remote can see BEHIND them (since they are in the same kart) and than they can also manage the items. I personally love the idea! I may make a totally new thread because i like it so much!

Its not worth Making Lite Controllers :/ might as Well just Release the Same Controller and Keep the specs

I like the Wii Remote idea better. The Wii Remotes are for the sword/baseball bat/golf club-needing games.

I would think that the single feature that drives up the cost of individual controllers would be the touch screen, which you simply couldn't remove. Your solution is a cool idea, but I'm still waiting on Nintendo to explain how this whole controller mess is going to work.

That is why I am so curious about the HDMI socket in the bottom of the controller, can extra screens be hooked up to the base unit by cable? That socket must have a purpose, what is an HDMI socket for if not transmitting High def images and sound?

yea i have heard people talking about that, but havent find the source, where is it?

I thought most devices these days use an HDMI port to upload the image to a bigger screen like a TV. But the wiiU does that wirelessly, so who knows what it's for.

I hope it has a recharge socket. That controller is going to lose charge pretty fast compared to other controllers.

Perhaps it's for hooking up to another TV elsewhere in the house, while someone is using the one the Wii U is connected to.

Off Topic- Hey Feld0 can i use this as my signature? " you know what guys? It's funny how the the human mind doesn't realize i said "the" twice."

On topic- I'm pretty sure the controller connects to an outlet using an external charger but i'm probably wrong. ;P

I just noticed, in an article, that the new controller has, what looks like, a camera, on the top edge not the front, identical to that on the Wiimote. Now this is no doubt to make it compatible with some Wii games, but that means you have yet another control option on this unit - a light-gun style pointer. Having said that, I'm not sure if it can be used in any innovative ways, if at all?

Can you give us the source? I'd like to see it myself. Not that I'm doubting you, I'm just having trouble imagining it.

I think he means removable as in the way a laptop battery is removable and not as in you can go and buy extras to charge in case batteries run out. And it looks like it's screwed in so it would be awkward.

I think the key to asynchronous multiplayer is to make it ASYNCHRONOUS!

What I mean is that the WiiU-controller player shouldn't have the some objective as the Wii-remote players.
For example, in Mario Kart the WiiU controller player should be able to control various effects on the race (like items, objects, etc.) while the other players actually control the racers. Make the WiiU-controller player the "Dungeon Master" of sorts.

Making multiplayer where all the players have the same objective defeats the point of asynchronous gameplay, in my opinion.

He calls it a "control beam"? I can't see what else it would be?

Edit; Hmm, on the IGN boards some seem to think it is an infra red emitter, perhaps for remote control of the T.V. that would be pretty good, especially if it could be a universal controller?

In this interview; http://allthingsd.co...s_editors_picks -Iwata , when asked "so the wii U is the T.V. remote of the future?", answers "yes." Though it is not clear he is confirming that it will control the T.V. functions.

Anyway, I'm non the wiser.
