I owned a 3DS once before. I was sick of the waiting and waiting. I was so ticked by the time OoT came out that I sold it. However, I'm thinking about getting a new XL to hold me over til the Wii U comes out. There are some 3DS exclusives I'd like to play as well. Besides it being newer, is the extra money worth the XL? What is the biggest difference, coming from a gamer, not a sales description? Also, is there a way to get back my old eShop account, or will I have to sign up for a new one?

Thanks!

I've only tried the XL in a store before and I don't own one yet, but I thought it felt more comfortable to hold than the original model and the larger screen was a big positive for me. If you don't currently own a 3DS, I'd recommend paying a bit more to get the XL.

I'm thinking the same, simply for the bigger screen.

At this point I think that the XL is the way to go. It doesn't cost much more, and it is just overall better. As for getting your old E-Shop account back I don't think that it is possible.

Be wary, the suck is coming.

Yes, a XL is worth the extra $30.

I'm glad you are getting another 3DS! I'll add you as a friend.

It'll cost quite a considerable amount more for the 3DS XL. On Amazon UK the 3DS Red, Blue & Black costs £119.99 and for the XL £176.98 with charger. I don't own a 3DS but am also having to decide what to buy. But if I buy the original 3DS which looks nicer (XL looks a bit cheap) I'll be saving £56.99 which could get me Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Pokémon White 2 for that! :(

Well, the only titles coming up that I'll be getting are Roller Coaster Tycoon 3D and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon (Maybe), those will hold me over until Smash Bros 3DS
I am the foot. I do not like you. You smother me with socks and shoes, then step on me thousands of times a day.

I've never tried it but the rounded corners look more comfortable, and the bigger pixels will make Netflix and DS games more enjoyable. I've been hearing that the volume on the XL is even lower than the 3DS' though, which I consider pretty low. But then again others say the opposite. Eh I'd go with the XL if I were you. Can always use headphones.

I will get the next model after the XL (if there is one) unless my current 3DS breaks...

1. If you add me, do I have to add you before we are official connected?

2. Is there a gamercard-esque site for 3DS? Or, did you make that awesome banner yourself?

I, too, would also like to know this. I've seen some awesome 3DS banners on here..

I know you already bought one, but for anyone considering:

Screens look visibly better and are so big and beautiful.
The system has a more mature look. It looks rather matte, but has a slight metallic finish, which really helps give it that extra something.
Hinges feel so much more secure. They snap beautifully.
There's a "snap" to the 3D slider, this helps make sure it stays off. (Turning it on by accident is a problem for me on my 3DS original)
The buttons click so much better as well.

Definitely worth the $30 extra bucks.
