I mostly think that this is because it being a new platform and that developers have not really gotten to know it yet, and that ways to go around this will be found (but probably not by Koei, lol). But maybe we will have some framerate problems in slacky-ported multiplatform-titles and early third-party games.
I still find the statement promising as "a thousand enemies on the screen" games are not what attracts me and instead I see opportunities for great looking regular games.
Imagine what graphically skilled developers such as Retro Studios will be able to do with the console. Believe!

GPU obviously is better than PS3/360 that's genuinely a given, it's near impossible for it to be weaker.

Secondly CPU wise, slower clock speed doesn't mean weaker, it just means less power consumption, and less heat if it were clocked higher. You can't compare clock speeds between different processors, it just doesn't work like that, processors are different. Perfect example are server processors, they can be clocked at just 3Ghz, but they do a lot more processing than a 3.5Ghz i7.

Even if the CPU is weak, that's where the GPU comes in. it's a GPGPU, I doubt the GPU is ever under full 100% load, so there's always some performance left and since it's a general purpose GPU, it can do processes that a CPU can.

Well if this is correct it is the best information we have to say the wiiu CPU is weak as from the article he didn't mention (dev guy) clock speed he was saying it was not as strong as the 360 and ps3 not that it has a slower clock speed .

Wow, Eurogamer lying AGAIN?

You think after the tekken dev flat out said in fury journalists flat out changed his words from his interview, and that sega team demanding eurogamer make a public apology for lying about what they said, journalists would make some attempt to save what shred of credibility they had left....

But nope, eurogamer once again tries to run away with slower clock=weaker cpu, and even puts those words in the devs mouth even though they never said it.

I especially like how their is no link to the actual interview.

Stay classy Eurogamer.

Wow.

These guys play fast and lose alternating between near quotes and their own investigative speculation, putting them together to say whatever they want.

Also, develops almost never say things like "the power is less" etc. there are specific things to point to. More than Likely euro gamer either mistranslated on purpose or actually full on lie if the interview was in English. They can actually get into big trouble because they quoted.

Clock speed is nothing. What you do with those cycles is.
Code written for more cycles is obviously going to be a challenge with a processor designed differently, despite its much greater "power"

Yeah. I run the AMD Phenom Black quad core in my pc. I could of put the 6 core in clocked slightly higher... but it doesn't matter because my quad core still processes info faster than spreading the load to 6 processors

Well, this sure sounds familiar...

Eurogamer just isn't a reliable source anymore. All they want is more traffic on their website.

Even if the CPU is weaker like they're reporting, I simply can't believe it until I ear it from some other website other then them. Period

If you try to fail and succeed, which have you done?

Anyway, I will definitely pick up his game. The spec talk really pisses me off, honestly, but whatever gives people something to talk about.
