  • Major shift in Kyoto development sources involving three Research & Development buildings
  • Shigeru Miyamoto stepping down as EAD General Manager
  • Takashi Tezuka becoming new EAD General Manager
  • New Groups / New Producers announced for EAD Kyoto / SPD Kyoto
  • EAD Tokyo Expansion / Masahiro Sakurai possibly Joining EAD Tokyo
  • New Division lead by Miyamoto with younger staff focused on smaller scale games
  • Miyamoto’s Departure Inspiring New IPs for the EAD Kyoto Division
Sounds quite likely to me. That's right after NSMBU wraps up, so Tezuka could switch positions easily. This would help Miyamoto work on smaller projects, and new IPs. And I've been wanting Tokyo to expand for a long time. I'm not sure the Sakurai thing sounds likely, though it is possible.

Since it's coming from a NeoGaf user and doesn't have any direct links to the source of this information. I wouldn't look into it too seriously for now.

Sounds good to me Miyamoto needs to step down and let some new blood take his place .All of this is really great news .

I think Tezuka would make a great successor to Miyamoto, as he's worked alongside him as the designer for many great games like Mario, Zelda, and Animal Crossing, but nowadays usually as the producer.

It's a good thing. Miyamoto needs successors because he won't live forever, and he is preparing for that, and so he should. A young mind is fresh for more exciting and innovative ideas, but it does come as a shock to most that someone as old as Miyamoto can dish out great ideas that appeal to young and old players.

THIS.
You guys need to realize that just because he's old doesn't mean he's out of talent. Get out.

No but he has prevented younger developers at Nintendo from doing what they wanted as well he is not done making games it is already known that he will be making more eshop games and stuff like that as Nintendo needs to get away from relying on Miyamoto and let the newer developers design their dreams .

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

Generally, a man of his statute would need to find a successor and watch him progress so that he can die knowing in peace that he will keep Nintendo going well and will be just as good as, if not better than Miyamoto.

Like his apprentice :) id be fine with this, someone working side by side with Miyamoto learning everything he knows. but not a hostile takeover where they force him out of his position and just utterly disrespect him by replacing him just because he is old

They're not disrespecting him or forcing him out of his position. He's said he doesn't want to keep doing what he's currently doing, and that he likes working on smaller projects. All of this would be fantastic news if true.

So this is what the Mayans predicted.
As long as he is still working on games I think its alright, he has said in a few interviews that he feels that he has held certain games back.
Cannot wait for his IP

I think this will be one of the best things to happen to Nintendo in a while.
Miyamoto making new smaller I.P.s is a great idea. I doubt anything negative could come out of this.

Be wary, the suck is coming.
