[Epic Kirby]

As everyone already knows that I've got a forum, relating to the Nintendo character Kirby. The forum has managed to whittle along with hardly any problems so far. With most of the members being cool, rational individuals but today our piece was shattered by an ugly green troll.

I logged on just now to find a new member, and I was like oh, cool, and then I saw the thread they made and I was like *insert swear word* 8-)

The thread was titled "U know kirby is 4 f4gots"

I'd just better warn now that it gets a little offensive so look away now. The thread basically goes.


Kirby is a t0tally gay game. Super retarted and only 20 year old gay phagz and 10 year old 1053r5 play it. I can play kirby because im c00l but i could pwn all you losers if I wanted too

I mean I can laugh it off now but before I was pretty angry, I know I shouldn't have been because it's usually people who say that stuff who have a problem with their sexuality. And I'm proud of being a Kirby fan and a Nintendo fan, my friends know it, my mum knows it, even my teachers know it.

But five minutes later I was just like whatever; two actions, ban and delete thread. I've developed a hard shell now.

Personally, I would have wanted to have a little fun with the troll; try to get him as mad as possible without insulting him once XD

But that would have been a disservice to the other forum goers (unless they joined in), so banning and deleting is probably the best idea

Oh, trolls. First thing you should remember is that you should take them neither seriously nor personally. I felt a lot like how you did when some troll joined the Feldian Forums and posted something far, far worse than that on a discussion topic we were having about whether pornography is good or not (with a strict taboo against posting any porn, of course; this was purely for discussion purposes), drawing in racism, swearing, and personal attacks.

I had absolutely no clue who this person was, but the fact of the matter is that I felt enraged when I read it.

After IP-banning the guy, though, I realized how silly the post was to begin with. We (and by "we," I mean everyone in the discussion) can have an opinion on a subject if we want to. We can be Yoshi fans if we want to (hint, hint). And we can have our unique quirks that make us all individuals.

All I'm saying is that ban-and-delete's the way to go, as much as you may want to hate the troll. You did the right thing, EK. Just move on.

My rule of thumb:
If it contains more than 3 unjustified swear words, ignore it.

Before I signed on someone was doing the opposite to what you said; insulting him (or her for that matter) as much as possible .

Wow, Feld0... :shock: ... that's why debates on forums are a bit hit and miss for me. In the suggestions thread on another forum this person was asking for a debate thread but the admin said no, things like that get out of hand because there are so many jerks on the internet it's better to just steer clear of controversial subjects all together.

However, some forums I've been on debates have really worked out for the best for them and you can actually have intelligent reasoned discussions. Note this one - http://www.khplanet.... ... ences.html

Just kidding, those two guys {kirby's and Feldo's troll} went too far.
I like posters who like to be controversial without insulting or belittling other posters while still being a bit trollish. They usually start up some good, worthwhile discussions/debates and present facts to back up their claims.

I'm still waiting for such a poster to join this forum. :lol:

I think that when they start to do that they actually cease to be trolls

we have had tons of trolls on 3DSBuzz! It gets soooo anoying! The first time they had a troll, me and him got in a little fight. . . Feld0 might remember. After that i just tried to ignore them. I think that is the best way. Oh yeah, and also report them! 8-)

Ahhh I remember the guy that called Feld0 the swear word for a males areas... the rubbish old days with a flood of trolls on that forum. Just so you were wondering, the guy was called Mario as his username. I now hate the name because I think Feld0s nice .

Really? I've only ever seen one troll on 3DS Buzz, although I only joined in January. I normally ignore them, and report any trolls I see.

i've only seen two. they were some intresting dudes. they knew words that can make your spine tremble........
