Ok, so this might sound strange, but the Wii U Pro Controller actually uses Nintendo 3DS battery. No wonder the thing lasts 80 hours in one charge.

This information was "leaked" via the Wii U's instruction manual in the battery replacement section. Here is the quote:

However, the GamePad and Pro Controller each require specialized lithium-ion batteries — the WUP-012 and CTR-003, respectively — and according to the manual, replacement batteries must be ordered directly from Nintendo.

Well, as we all know, WUP (stands for "Wii U Project") is the codename of the Wii U obviously and CTR (stands for "Century") is the codename of the 3DS, and CTR-003 really is the 3DS battery codename. So that's strange. A Wii U product using a 3DS battery? What? We're looking at 1300mAh of battery power for just a controller, that's insane.

I guess it is Power to the Player after all :D

it's because the 3DS is a LOT more taxing on the battery than a controller. The 3DS has to backlight 2 screens, one of which is 3d.

You do realize that a controller uses a lot less power than a handheld system that has to power 3 screens (touchscreen + 3D screen (2)) plus CPU, GPU, RAM and whatnot...
If you try to fail and succeed, which have you done?

lol because the controller only uses his energy with the bluetooth communication, the 3ds algo have speakers, cpu and gpu usage, 2 lightened screens, wi-fi... etc

BECAUSE FAIRIES SAID SO!!!
I just thought I'd say something different.

That's some nice detective work. Did you realise that or was it someone else?

Well, I now know that once my Pro Controller battery breaks, I can switch it with my 3DS battery.

Just like the "WUP codename" back in Septembem and the "WaraWara Plaza menu theme easter egg", I spotted it and posted it here. I haven't seen anyone else spotting this, but it is possible. I like this detective stuff :D

That's a neat little fact, but it's really no use to us. Unless someone needed a new 3DS battery, but the battery would likely be cheaper than the Pro Controller.
