a few months ago I went hands on with the Wii U at a Nintendo event in Toronto. I was pretty impressed with the console, but it still had some issues.
Anyway, on the eve of the system's launch, I figured you might be interested in checking out my preview.

I have to disagree with you on the WiiU getting left behind when the PS4 and Xbox 8 come out as that will be roughly 6 years from now and by then Nintendo will release a new console, just as the Wii lifespan was 6 years, so will the Wii U's

Reports? you mean like those reports that said the Wii U was 19 times more powerful the the PS3 or those reports that the Wii U was weaker then the the Xbox 360??? Those reports are nothing more than made up rumors like Big foot and the UFO sightings...
The PS3 is finally hitting its stride, for Sony to release a new console in 1 year would be suicide... and Microsoft is coming out with smartglass and then Kinect 2 which will run them each into the next 5-6 years...

Even if they announce them next year..it will most likely be fall 2014 by we get them. But ye, not 6trs lol. 2years min I reckon
