So, apparently there is already a way to run Wii homebrew on the Wii U, and that's on the launch day.
It's interesting to see how far it might go in the near future. Perhaps, eventually people will be able to run GC games. Who knows.

I'm personally hoping there will be a good amount of homebrew development. But unfortunately, if this topic gets to about getting ROMs/ISOs, it will be locked.

Although I enjoy modding my devices, I can't do it for new devices because they get a lot of updates within the first few years. So I won't be modding my Wii U for a looooooong time, anyway. Same with my 3DS.

Hoping that the Wii U version of Homebrew will eventually let you play Virtual Console and Wii games on the gamepad. That'd be real nice, although not sure if its even possible.

Wii mode is locked out from the rest of the system exactly how gamecube mode was locked out of the wii system.
Nothing Wii U will come from a wii mode hack, and this is why Nintendo did wii mode how they did, and why we can't use the upad for VC.
Wii has so many holes it'd be impossible to keep Wii U safe without quarantining the wii stuff.

If it was this easy to hack, it means its just as easy for nintendo to block it.
