I saw that on the back of the gamepad it has regular star head screws. Will there be a battery extension that prolongs the life of the controller? Three to five hours of battery life doesn't seem like it's enough. I have to keep charging the gamepad constantly.

I think eventually there will be. The slot is twice as big as the battery inside if you open it up.

Is it lasting 5hrs though? U only got it yesterday didn't you? ..Also, if you think your going to be on it for a long session why not just plug it in and play? How long is the cable?

Honestly it didn't feel like 5 hours before the battery depleted. I haven't even used it on my game yet either.

"why not just plug it in and play?"

I could do that but I'm concerned about destroying the battery life by playing while charging.

Yep, there is a 3rd party one coming out already, and you can also just leave the charge cord plugged in the top as you play as well, which is what we'll be doing for long play sessions.

Besides, who can sit on a toilet playing for more than 5 hours? ;)

I can see another one being made either by nintendo or 3rd party.
I believe mines lasted about 5hrs. I played ac3 for about 3hr when it started to blink. Bit i already planed nintendo lando andwas on the miivs before that.
But it would be nice to have a 10hr battery because that a full day there. (normal people 9am to 7pm, dont think i ever play a game thayuch tho)

Also for the people tht fussed about the gamepad not charging usb. Your stupid. If it was usb then you couldnt charge it while the system was off. And if you could then the wii u would be running extra hrs to charge the gamepad.
I like that the gamepad has its own outlet.

oh thats cool, i hadn't realised it had its own ac adapter. i have two pads for my ps3..one is charging while im playing then i swap when i need to. but i was thinking about the gamepad charger earlier...doing that with 1 pad would be frustrating, atleast now we can fully charge it over night. i'll be taking mine to bed with me..a little gaming, internet etc...i'll probably kick the wife out of the bed aswel so my gamepad is nice and snug while i sleep

Lol.
But yea since it has its own charger you can dock it next to th bed. You can turn the system on and off with if also controll ch, vol and inputs of the tv with the game pad.
The only thing it cant do is put a game in the system for you lol.
