So my wife is playing Super Mario U, and blocks start appearing randomly. Keep in mind she's using the Wii remote and I'm NOT playing.
Later, I'm at the home screen and it selects and loads the Mii Maker on its own! Is my system wiggling out? Is the game pad battery low, and features not working affecting gameplay?

Other issues include:
I tried to turn the tv/Wii u off. The tv turned off and the console turned off, but not the game pad (stuck in tv remote mode).
Difficulty selecting anything in Nintendoland when both Wii remote and game pad are up and running.

I bought Gamestop's store warranty (to support those guys, they've been good to me), but I don't want to use it unless I have to. Someone please tell me what's going on!

There's probably dust/dirt on the screen that's making the Wii U GamePad think it's being touched.. it happens with my phone too, just wipe the screen and see if that works..

Add Mii on miiverse:

Sounds like the gamepad thinks you're touching it... There was a small piece of something (lint?) under my screen, so you could have something similar... I'm lucky enough for it not to affect usability, though. :/ You should probably clean it really well, and if it still has the problem, you might have to get a new gamepad, be it via Gamestop warranty, or Nintendo support.

Update: I took your advice and called Nintendo. Turns out it was a combo attack: dirty or less than clean screen protector and needing to recalibrate the touch screen. So far, this seems to have fixed the problem.

Thank you for the prompt replies!

Might be something todo with the signal type which is required for functioning the TV mode on the gamepad. But i personally have no idea.
I presume you setup the gamepad to control your TV.
I have so far not experianced that, contact Nintendo Support.

You probably need to recalibrate your gamepad through your system settings. Hopefully that helps but if not as everyone else is saying call nintendo.
