A game called The Phantom Pain was announced at this years' VGAs. Coming from a new studio called Moby Dick ( more on them later), the debut trailer shows someone waking up in a hospital, with a hook on his left hand. It then cuts to gameplay of him crawling around, clearly in pain. He is helped out by some fellow "paitents."

And that's when the demonic unicorn shows up.

The full trailer can be found here: http://kotaku.com/59...ks-very-intense

I think it's a Metal Gear game in disguise. The CEO of Moby Dick Studio is Joakim Mogren, and Joakim us an acronym for Kojima. Mogren also contains the word Ogre, suggesting a tie to Kojima's Project Ogre, which may or may not be a Metal Gear game. It also appears to be running on the FOX Engine, also powering Ground Zeroes, the next Metal Gear game. And, the guy at the end really, REALLY looks like Big Boss. It's just too many coincidences together. Kojima's denying he has any involvement in it, but it's been well established that he's a troll, so...

EDIT: Kotaku link had a few seconds of video missing. This one's got the whole trailer:

People already figured out its really Metal Gear Solid V. Uses the same FOX engine as ground zeroes. Could possible be a vita title or just a dream sequence from ground zeroes coming out for the xbox and ps3. Some screenshots posted online are very low res and kojima did say that the FOX engine can be ported to the vita, so who knows.

I really hope this isn't Ground Zeroes, or MGS 5, as I want to play a game that is just this. Seriously, this looks amazing.
Too bad it's clearly MGS related.
Wow, I never thought I'd ever say, "too bad it's clearly MGS related".

That's obviously big boss, burnt face guy from the ground zero's trailer, and that one guy from MGS3 (The guy standing in the fire).

Just viral marketing. Still really want to play that game though.

You know, according to George Kaslar's coded conversation during the Big Boss fight in MG2:SS, and in the MGS4 database, Big Boss lost his right eye, right ear, and his limbs after his battle with Snake in the original Metal Gear, and became the first test subject of Madnar's Snatcher Project, in which his limbs and injured organs were replaced with state of the art prosthetics, supposedly under the supervision of an unidentified despot in the Eastern Bloc.
I wonder if this could be related in any to that?
Probably not, but it might explain the coma, difficulty moving his body, and the prosthetic.

This guy knows what's up. Well, kinda. Either way, this game looks extremely trippy.

I think it might be Project Ogre. The MGS stuff's a red herring.

I hope it's not Vita exclusive. Don't really want to buy one for one game.

Why do they feel the need to disguise what the game is and who's making it?
I will never understand some marketing techniques.

...I kinda want to just say what I think about this right now...

This seems like, to me, anyway, some form of sequel to MGS3. :P

It builds hype, suspense, and excitement.

I'd love to see The Phantom Pain realized as an actual game, but I'm not sure how the footage we saw could tie into a Metal Gear Solid game. Either way, here's our rumour roundup:

Seems about right for them to make a MGSV, 4's been out for a few years now.

True, but I feel like they'll be drowning the market in Metal Gear Solid games over the next few years. We've got MGS Rising: Revengeance, MGS: Ground Zeroes, and now MGS V? That's a whole lot of Kojima.

Really hope this comes to Vita.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

Yeah this is most definitely a metal gear solid game from the Sneaking animation to the crawling section reminding me of the microwave hallway in Gun of the Patriots.

It being an MGS game is quite clear, the question now is whether it's on the Vita or not.

I don't feel it is but its true their is some areas which does look quite weak in graphical fidelity ,The fact that the video at least on youtube is in 720p which is above the vita resolution and it says its for the ps3 and 360(But that could just be part of the elaborate troll but I'm not sure if a company would go far enough to pretty much go F*** you 360 and ps3 owner your not getting this game we lied mwhahah) If it is for the vita its was being ran on a computer in this video.
