I put the u play software on my wii u and I guess my wife had a u play account so I signed on with hers but now I want to use my own account but can't figure out how to signout on the wii u so I can log in with mine. Anybody know how this can be done?

Sign out of the actual WiiU? Just click the top left picture of the Mii on the Gamepad on the home menu

No, sign out of the uplay account on the wii u. It just automatically signs in to my wife's account and I see no way to sign out of her account so I can sign in with mine. I have tried deleting the uplay app and downloading it again but that didn't help.

Uplay is tied to your Wii U account (seeing as how when I made mine it auto took my username), All I think you can do is change your Email Address.
