Who else thinks that they should show reruns of the original Pokemon series?

You could always watch them online. If you search for the right websites, you can find all the episodes ever, including the movies.

There is also a page on Pokémon.com called Pokémon TV. On that page they show about ten episodes for the anime from each region at a time. They numerically replace earlier episodes with newer episodes each week until the end of the sagas and at that point they go back to the first episode of the region making a continuous loop of episodes.

I think before they make another season, they should show the first one. It's likely the older fans would watch them too.

Well they technically do. I watch everything online now-a-days though, so I'm not concerned with this.
