Depends what game it is really... Games like Nintendoland would be horrible with online play, it's a lot better with people IN the room to laugh and play with. Imao anyway. But for most games it should be at least an option.

Every single mutiplayer game should have both online, and in room multiplayer. There's not a single excuse that makes any kind of sense not to have both.
