Since MH3 Ultimate is coming out on March 19th, Capcom wants Monster Hunter Tri fans to migrate to the newer game by shutting down the online servers for Monster Hunter Tri about six weeks after Ultimate's release.

Not exactly ideal, what if someone plays MH3 and then wants to play the previous game/

This seems fair... Although it would be cool if the two games shared servers to some degree... Oh well, not too many people will be effected by this.

Be wary, the suck is coming.

That's messed up :P Like sometimes when I'm bored I would go play Call of Duty 4 for the nostalgia and stuff, so it's kind of not right that they're shutting down servers so you can't go back...

Im pretty sure Dragon Quest 10 are going to share servers, but those games are essentially identical, while MH3U has more content

That's true, but it'd still be nice to have overlapping servers for content that's on both versions.

not true.

eventually it will: original xbox servers were still going on until 2010, PS2 servers are shut down, when Nintendo Network completely replaces Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (when the next Mario Kart and Smash Bros are released and all Virtual Console games are available on Nintendo Network, Wii and DS servers will be shut down. It costs money to run servers, and eventually the costs won't be worth it: if it was, I would still be playing Star Wars Battlefront on my PS2 online (by the way make Battlefront 3 BTW)

It's reasonable enough. What worries me is that Monster Hunter Tri hasn't been out that long.. I hope the monster Hunter Ultimate servers stay up longer.

BF3 was made, all that was needed was bug fixing. Alas lucasarts canned it at the last moment. If they ever try and claim games are to expensive I will just chuckle at how they canned a more or less finished game..... and then cry.

Stupid decision not only are people going to hate that, but we get a good look at what Capcom is trying to do.
Sega has much better fanbase support, not only is their Dreamcast version of Phantasy Star Online 1 still have their severs up and weekly maintenance but they announced it won't be closing until 2018 not when the next one releases.

Phantasy Star Online's official servers shut down a long time ago: people now have it hooked up to a private server.

Well it appears that is something unfortunate, I'd rather them support a game for a long period and stop nickle and dime'ing people for our cash.

Truly unfortunate to those who don't have a Wii U.

That's a little rude lol

If you think Smogon ban stuff

"Just because they can't beat it"

You clearly don't play OU

You clearly have no knowledge of the metagame

And you clearly don't deserve to have an opinion.
