This seems to be a lesser issue than most have with their gamepad. So my gamepad used to work great, ive had it for 2 months, but now its range has decreased heavily and it loses the connection about every 5 minutes. It cant be vertical or the connection gets lost too. The console is out in the open and obstructed by nothing. Anyone else have this issue?

No, but you should try recalibrating the game pad.

sounds to me like your gamepads signal reciever is loose.

Orientation affecting signal is the big tipoff for me.

Its likely a simple matter of opening, reconnecting any loose connections, properly reseating, and securing.

Which will take about 5 minutes for a nintendo technician to fix, and then theyll charge you 80 bucks.

Considering its still under warranty they shouldn't be charging anything.
