Yesterday I turned on my 3DS as usual and when I tried to start Nintendogs + Cats it made the echo noise that you hear every time you start an app or game but it stayed on the home menu and nothing happened. I tried launching Super Mario Land also but again the problem happened again. Then when I tried to turn off my 3DS the black screen appeared with the 3D and blue power LEDS on. but then the normal shut down screen appears where it tells you either you can turn off your 3DS or put it in sleep mode. I turned off my 3DS and about two hours later I turned on my 3DS again and the problem was gone. No data was erased or anything and my 3DS is ok. Has this happened to anyone before?

I've never encountered that problem. The only problems I have encountered so far have been with my first 3DS game Rayman 3DS. Back in April I got the black screen error twice while playing that game, and there was one time when I got the internet browser. I paused OoT went to the internet press the home button but it remained on the loading screen and didn't return to the menu.

I've never had any glitches or bugs on my 3DS. Whether I'm only lucky or not, I'll keep an eye out for this, just in case.

Just seems like a glitch, nothing harmful. Never happened to me, though.

No, I've never encountered that. As long as the problem was a one off and isn't recurring then it should be alright.
