Sorry dude, didnt you know? your shenanigans finally ran out of time. Nintendo showed off monolithsofts project in alpha/beta, which is a large open world game which, even in beta/alpha makes open world games on ps360 look tiny, slow, and kinda crappy....

And thats just the tip of the iceberg, nintendo has buttloads of exclusive ground up projects they will be slowly unveiling from now to e3 via nintendo directs.

I was going to point this out as well, the game is no where near finished but makes other open world efforts feel closed in with flat backdrops. We haven't even scratched the surface of what this console can do obviously, and it seems Nintendo might not even know what the hell they put in there.

Thraktor and bgassassin are finally circling back around to the idea that the 6XXX series GPU's were referenced rather than the 4XXX series. they are thinking 6550HD because of some similarities on that GPU and Latte. we don't have die shots of e6760 but same chip series and probably uses the same SIMD architecture. I'm sticking with e6760 with two SIMD engines removed. e6760 has 6 SIMD engines (12 SIMD cores w/ 40ALU per core) and Latte looks to have 4 engines (8 cores with 40ALU per core) any other similar logic blocks on 6550 are probably also on e6760 but maybe in different numbers. Seems the fake leak might have been the right answer all along.

so devs dont even have info. supports working on the GPU/CPU desing all the way up to the last second. im beginning to wonder if nintendo is trying to make there games look bad, to set a low bar for early games next to other consuls, then all of a sudden BAM, we lied. there is some support but it is still a out-there theory.

no CPU die shots yet... how?

I wonder why no one else has thought of the obvious reasons they might have intentionally withheld serious specifications. To keep the competition in the dark! Durango leaked specs with 8GB of ram, then the rumor mill starts churning out claims that Sony is upping the RAM to stay competitive. No one can leak Nintendo info if very few people have it. I think the negative press it is getting is a result of not working with the videogaming media, they are peeved at Nintendo for keeping them in the dark because they feel entitled to every little detail.

Now that the competition's specs have been finalized (once they are confirmed to be so) I expect Nintendo to come out with all of the information they have on the hardware. If I were them, I would keep it away from VG media as much as possible, and let what the devs are able to do with the system provide all the evidence needed of it's potential.

The only other reason I can think of is they gave all the information they themselves had at the time, given the highly customized nature of the architecture and the lack of comparable chips or code to baseline performance on, I wouldn't doubt this either. It seems they only finalized the hardware within several months of the launch, and in that time their own dev groups had to figure out what they had to work with.

No CPU shots yet, they are forthcoming.

I've been following this thread here and over at neogaf, b3d and simliar discussion at gamerConnect. I am a newbie here and came from the 3ds forums. Great discussion here and I am glad to see everyone (the majority) keeping an open mind and level head compared to the other forums I mentioned.

I came across this link on b3d and this interview with the developers of Need for Speed Most Wanted for the Wii U really shines light on the potential power of system and the uniqueness of the gamepad. I think many naysayers will begin to quiet down if they watch and listen. This port is coming from the PC, not the PS3Xbox360 and the developer mentions how they were able to keep better textures, drawing distance etc because of the Wii U unlike the other ported titles.

Definitely interested in this, and I'm impressed with these developers. I've been following the other threads as well, and there are quite a few more Nintendo haters posting in them but there is still some great discussion going on over there. I think this thread here allows us to both react to what's happening on those threads and postulate our own ideas in deciphering this hardware. And we have 3Dude, they don't, lol.

If its spun along the pitch or roll axis, then yes...

Unless you have motion plus, then you can have it however.

i was also hoping for things like you only turn the wheel 1/4th of a circle, instead of the 5/4ths of a normal car.

Thats also easily accomplishable.

I assume they'll have sensitivity settings available to tailor the gameplay to your needs.

I hope so, and after seeing the hard work and sweat they put into porting the PC need for speed, i would definately think its something they considered.

So I guess it's pretty much back to the drawing board for those who were insisting the Wii U was not capable of much more then what was being shown in early ports like AC3, BLOPS2. What the Need For Speed port is showing is quite amazing considering the size of the Wii U console, and the PSU.

They will simply chew the clock, and troll as long as possible, jumping on every crapped out release, ignoring everything that contradicts them, until nintendo shows off their big guns, and they can no longer be taken remotely seriously.

Then theyll just wait until next gen.

considering the bear minimum "which intentinaly doesnt account for several 'unknown' factors" is 1.5x xbox360. most likly 3-5x 360 for the avridge ground up game, poor ports ar 1x-2x 1.5-2.5x for early next gen ports. that # should grow. also expect the lowest early power ceiling(the point where you start optimizing), but by far the most room to push more out through optimization, as compared to PS4 where i expect the opposite. and somewhere inbetween for the 720. id expect that to make onpar games look best on PS4 but the games that are well optimizes and pushed to the max be a tossup on all 3(still favores 720/PS4).

Im glad we got the best console port finally. I was tired of the competitor consoles getting the better ones.

Easily identifiable are the processor cores, and the respective caches, 1 block each for top and bottom cores, (512 Kb) and 4blocks for the beefed up middle core, for 2 Mb.

I think I recognize these setups matching this withwhat ive seen before, and matching the leaked info. Particularly the caches....

Welcome to the Sahara.

These look to be 3 (custom) ppc750 fx's, and the fat boy in the middle is a little wierd, its the same size as the fx's, but it appears to have a few extra logic components.... And twice the cache of the 750Gx (but it if it was a gx, it would be noticably larger than its buddies above and below... which its not.)

These are all code compatable with every processor in the 750 family, including 750Cx (Gekko) 750cle (broadway) (and any and all g3 computers/ibooks/laptops)

A little info about the difference between 750fx and cle.

Fx has about twice the transistor count of cle, and smokes the living dog poo out of it in instructions per clock and performance per watt.... And it has never, EVER been fabricated this small or clocked this high.... or made multicore.

Ha.... ha ha... It would be epically hilarious if this ended up being a derivitive of the mythical 750vx.
