I guess you haven't actually looked on the e-shop then as it was released in the UK the same time as the US. I'm in the UK and downloaded it on my Wii U.

Yep works for me to,nice little app really.

Just downloaded it, I'm sure I heard it mentioned that it was released in the US so just took it as US only  Thanks for that B)

I quite enjoyed walking around the streets of Japan, it's definitely easier to use against Google maps but it is easier on Google maps to pinpoint a location than on the gamepad. Definitely a nice piece of software.

I honestly dont see the point in this. The gamepad isnt portable so why would you need google maps? I guess you could plan your journey before you leve the house but still seems pointless.

It's google maps streetview. It's not for planning trips, it's for seeing scenic locales from your house.

I think you're missing the point of it Dude. I was walking down a street in Japan earlier, checking out the shops there, even walking down an outdoor market, all from the comfort of my sofa and without the expensive flight to get there. Obviously not as good as the real thing but I personally think it's quite impressive.

I agree it is a novelty and as I said before will probably ware off. I certainly wouldnt jave paid for it. That said I don't think its pointless and does have some redeeming features and value. I supposes if you feel you have no need for it you can always delete it.

I have to chime in on this one...

Last night my wife and I were showing our 4 year old daughter all of the places in the world that we have traveled to that she has never seen.

This alone was worth a million dollars to see the look on her face when we were able to "walk" around the Eiffel Tower in Paris and look at castles in Spain. It's about as close as possible that we will be able to recreate this for her and for that we are very happy.

Also it's super fun looking at all of the places we have lived over the years and just seeing how they have changed.

Way to go Nintendo for continuously thinking outside of the 'videogame' box and pushing the limits and expectations of what consoles can do.

We can't wait for more unique features and applications like Street U.

Speaking of looking back at places ones lived in over the years I lived in San Francisco for nine years and it was nice to use it to look at all the parts of the city I spent time in while I was living there. Funnily enough they haven't really changed much since I left eleven years ago.

I always wondered, how often are these street views updated?

That is a good question. I'm sure they're update fairly frequently though.

I miss the days when people used their imaginations to do such things. Oh well, it is free after all and I'm sure people like yourself will enjoy using it occasionally.

That's the beauty of it, it's free and unique to the Wii U. It's not an essential piece of software but it is a nice feature and can be some fun for a while. As you said, I'll enjoy it occasionally as it's not a deal breaker but it's a nice addition. My mate was in awe with it when I showed him last night. He's never seen google maps so this was all new to him and he was simply amazed

What would be really cool is they keep adding in in-depth tours of places like one week we get to tour a big museum then another week we get to go see the pyramids. Thats how they will get constant use of the app

I think it's pretty cool, downloaded right away. Though it takes a bit to start up, but thats forgiven. It's a little troublesome to walk, but what your able to look and see, like look up and down, and inside stores is amazing. I think it would cool for some locations they would do a short video clip revolving around the location like what happens in Google Earth. There is so much they can do, do make it like street view, but with the smoothness of walking, and slightly better joystick camera.

Hopefully they will update it with new features and make it better over time.

Surprised by how much I liked it. Little slow, but it was pretty cool seeing my house. 5 years ago.

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.
