is there anyway we could make it so that when more than one person replies to a status, there is only one notification instead of like 10? make it "there has been a reply to 'so and so's' status".

No I don't think so,

It could be like for example...

billy and tom and mario and a monkey replied to yoshiwiiugamer's 9 status, all in one notification, would be nice though.

As far as I know, the notification system cannot be changed like that. It would be a good idea, but I have no idea if it can actually be done.

No, that's impossible.
Suggest it at invision though, they could add it.

Very good idea, but I don't think it's possible either.

This isn't technically possible to accomplish with IP.Board in its current state, but it looks like what's needed to request the feature has been done. It's up to IPS to make the change now, which will require a fundamental refactoring of the notifications system.
