A good use for Game Cube Controller Port Adapter

27 March 2015 - 07:25 PM

Why not update the Wii system on newer Wiis and Wii Us to accept the Game Cube Controller Port Adapter.  That's a far better use than SSBWU, especially considering they make GC style controls that plug into a Wiimote, ones authorized by Nintendo.

I heard Nintendo was taking back Wiis without Game Cube ports, because nowhere on Active Life or Wii systems was the incompatibilty mentioned.  Dance Dance Revolution was severyly hampered by this, and real early joypad games like Metal Slug Anthology were made crippled by the lack of GC ports.

If you look at the list of Wii games hurt on a Wii U, all of them have to do with a lack of a GC port.  Metal Slug Anthology was made BEFORE Classic Controllers were thought of.  If you want to advertise 100% compatibility with Wii games, this is the solution.  I understand Game Cube GAMES won't work on Wii U because it needs an 8 cm disc loader.

Finally visit my post on exercising on the wii u to see future potential of the game cube port adapters.

Less painful way to exercise using the Wii U

Imagine playing Mario Kart, except to go, instead of holding down the 2 button, you pedal on a Balance Board (like the Bike course on Wii Fit U) or run on the Active Life Mat?   The Game Cube Port adapter needs to work for more than just SSBWU.

Some games the balance board works fine, but other games you need to run real fast, and a Balance Board can't handle it for pure calorie burning, because you'll either break the balance board or your ankles when running real fast.  but the Active Life Mat was meant for speed.

The Active Life Mat may or may not be handy in Mario Kart where a Balance Board will do, but imagine it in Splatoon, where running in humanoid form requires you to run.   The faster you run, the faster the squid runs.  You can't do that well naturally on a Balance Board.

This adds extra strategy,  if you don't have the speed and endurance of a pro athlete or soldier, you've got to pace yourself, and use speed bursts strategically, unlike most other shooters where you go all out all the time with no consequences.

This will put the sport back in E-Sports, and let a division where people who are athletic beyond their thumbs excel.   Also, all my local friends were way too athletic, and no one would pick me.   Online anonymity would let the less athletic get some exercise without feeling inadequate, especially in a team game like Splatoon.

Nintendo started the revolution of getting gamers off the couch.   Finish the job by making some lower body, combined with WiiMote upper body exercises in a Sports situation.   Not just a gym instructor measuring how well you do, but to play games with real live remote human opponents.  Games where running speed is an aspect, but not the sole determining factor.

Of course, we won't take away traditional modes, and to encourage exercising, the exergame division is a separate division for rankings and matchup purposes.

I talked to a company who lied my idea but said the Nintendo Third Party system is too bad (in their opinion) for independent developers.

I am typing this on my wii u.  My business is inventing stuff.  My username + a .com is my website, where one of my inventions is showcased, a 3-D card game, 3-d in the sense there are independent numbers, colors, and suits, and this deck can play 14 games now, with more in the future.  I got an associate who can program these games in Visual Basic, and if someone can program good visuals, and system-specific stuff, we can make a deal on a better Flash version, as well as consoles.

I'm applying for a provisional patent on a technology to turn old games into old online games WITHOUT WRITING NEW GAME NET CODE.  When I suggested it to Sega, the forum moderator banned me, but I got the last laugh.  Sega licensing told me if I can show it working with any Sega-systemed game, they'll talk licensing.  Nintendo doesn't comment until they see a prototype.  Once I get my patent, Panasonic will review it to see if they want to fund it.  Better Panasonic than Sony or Microsoft.  Now EVERY game could potentially be online.

By the way, the oldest system I had mom and dad purchase at childhood was a Colecovision.  It's probably easier to list systems I didn't purchase in the day.  All Atari systems, Odyssey 2, Astrocade, Arcadia 2001 Intellivision, Master System, Turbo Grafx, Virtual Boy, 3DO, and Neo Geo Pocket Color, were all thrift store finds.  I don't own dedicated units, Fairchild, RCA, cd-i, Vectrex, Neo Geo and Xavix I don't have.  The only preschool system I have is Pico for collectability, and I found that for 50 Cents with lots of packs.  Every other US released sysyem, I believe I have bought during the time they were supported systems except the PS4, which I will wait until it's goodwill fodder.  Any other questions, ask away.
