#23544 Rumor: 3DS to receive a redesign and a new name starting in 2012.

Posted by Wertville on 23 August 2011 - 05:19 AM

Sigh... I really hope the next Nintendo handheld has a more unique form factor - and removes that damn touch screen.

and removes that damn touch screen

removes

Why would they drop such a huge innovation O.o?
I understand you want it to look different than the DS, but just make the shape different. Leave the awesome parts alone. :/

#23285 is nintendo being cheap?

Posted by Wertville on 22 August 2011 - 05:12 AM

you guys still arent getting it. i was using the dvd playback as just an example. im talking everything. using products that were made 4-5 years prior to the launch of your console?? all im saying is if nintendo made billions on Wii(which they did) can we get a little bit better tech inside our console?? i understand they have to be smart because they are just a gaming company but in todays western world you have to stack your product.

We know. That's why we're asking for a Sandwich Maker, a Soda Fountain, a Personal Massuse, an Auto-Pilot, a Coffee Machine, a Foot Washer, and a Toaster.

...On a more serious note, I don't think anyone really knows what 'Modern Tech' you're talking about. I can understand wanting, say, 3G on a handheld. That fits with the handheld, after all. But what can you stick on the console to add useful value?
DVD player is pointless, as it's old tech. BluRay is still relatively new and expensive. HD-DVD is dead. Holographic still isn't for another several years. Outside of disk storage you have... A printer and a scanner? Nope, those would be peripherals. Camera? On the Tablet. Monitor? Kinda irrelevates the Tablet.

So... What exactly do you want from it? It already has things like Video Chat and Netflix, as well as an above decent online. It includes External Hard Drive support, Has BluRay competitive size disks and supports 3D. The Graphic card is going to stay relevant for quit a few years, along with the processor and everything else inside. What else do you need from a gaming console?

EDIT: Copy and Paste fail >.<

This is my first and only time, I swear!

With this list and the point you raise:

To OP: NINTENDO IS NOT BEING CHEAP. They're just smart and are not gonna include something that everybody has in other devices, and they don't wanna raise the price unnecessarily...

I don't care how necessary it is, I still want a dang coffee machine :P

#21957 Should Nintendo Buy Sega?

Posted by Wertville on 15 August 2011 - 06:27 PM

Thats no what I meant :P
In Hind site, you are correct. I just forgot about some of Sega's great new IPs. Only problem I would have with Sega would be that who would publish all the crappy movie titles?

Capcom? But then we would get like 5 for each movie...

#21720 The Era of Video Game Fanboyism

It's like, Leonard, Wallowitz and Raj are nerds, and Sheldon is Otaku.

But Sheldon leaves his house...

#21673 ROB returns?

R.O.B. wasn't a game... He was something that was stuck on top of the NES to make it more Toy-like....
...

...Let's just say the industry was opposite what it is today.

#21541 Secrecy

Posted by Wertville on 14 August 2011 - 02:21 PM

It's clear that they are definitely hiding many things about the Wii U, and I think I know why:

They won't be able to release before next E3.

If you think about it, this is a huge issue. Sony and Microsoft, hearing that Ninty's making a new console, are going to try and 1-up them at the big event, and drop sales before the console even launches. Nintendo is using this to their advantage, to counter MicroSony.

This bad publicity from the lack of information is going to keep the Wii U stuck in everyone's mind. People remember negative thought much more easily than positive ones. People will spread rumors, good and bad, speculate, write blogs, ect. ect. Then, come E3, people are going to forget about the Wii U for a minute and watch the unveiling of something MicroSony wants them to think is awesome, and worth skipping the WiiU for.

Next comes Ninty's conference. They watch the conference, with no mention of anything U. Some 3DS things here, Zelda thing here, opinion on the game industry there... then comes the end. The restless reporters, who want nothing more than to find out about the U, get bombarded with amazing specs, outstanding games and great innovation. 90%+ of their doubts will have turned out to be false! Nintendo will have effectively absorbed all the splash damage from MicroSony and generated at least some hype! Plus it will be that much harder to spread seeds of distrust about U, simply because people will find it harder to justify their doubts.

Of course, it won't go that smoothly. Lots of people will keep questioning Ninty, and many non-gamers will be even more confused. But it will prevent MicroSony from stealing the WiiU's thunder. And that's all that counts.

It really inspires me :P

You can, trust me. It's just a matter of practice. My drawings of last year looked like this:

That is an awesomely perfect stick person :D
Clearly you had some sort of untapped inner potential of darkness... I mean drawing!

#20908 All Of Nintendo's Studio's That they can PUT WORK ON.

YES!
PEOPLE ARE GETTING ON BOARD WITH MY IDEA!

Just According to Keikaku
(Translator’s Note: Keikaku means plan)

Anyway, I think this thread is a recommendation as to what each of Nintendo's studios could be doing/should be doing?

#20873 Do you think Nintendo should move to the iPhone?

Posted by Wertville on 12 August 2011 - 02:17 PM

Care to explain WHY it's a bad idea? Without that the only reasoning in your post would be when you said "fanboy" :3

Says the Vita Fanboy ;)

One of the many reasons Ninty should stick with the 3DS is because they already know the hardware, and it was pretty much custom built for them. They would have to re-learn everything if they were to switch over to the Vita and it would be years before they reach their maximum potential. Then there's the 'Less money for 1st Party' thing, and the 'Sony can control franchise' thing... Trust me. There are MANY reasons why that is a bad idea.

EDIT: Left out a word :S

#20793 Ranking system discovered

Posted by Wertville on 12 August 2011 - 08:27 AM

I already do cater to only one fandom with the ranking system. Namely, Mario.

The actual chances of us ever getting MLP ranks here are quite slim, mostly because ponies have nothing to do with Nintendo. Neither does Umineko. Mario, on the other hand, pretty much symbolizes Nintendo and everything the company stands for. So that's why I chose to use Mario ranks.

I meant outside of Mario, of course :P
It's not 'Catering to a Fandom' if that's what the whole forum's about XD

#20682 What's the point of next gen consoles?

Posted by Wertville on 11 August 2011 - 06:29 PM

Guys! It's started! THE END OF GAMING AS WE KNOW IT!
You see, there was this neat popular item called the 'Paper,' and with this 'Paper' you could store your Contacts, Plan your Day and send messages that the hip people call 'Letters.' 'Paper' has become a worldwide phenomenon, ending up in almost every persons home, and being used by whole families, young and old!

But there was a recently discovered way to play GAMES on 'Paper.' Kids have been seen spending entire schoolyard recesses playing games like Hangperson™, Sqaaures™ and 'Paper' AeroPlanes™. Employees have spent many hours slacking off playing challenging puzzle games like 'Orugami'™. Even other games are being amplified with 'Paper' apps, such as the Yo-Gu-On Health Point Calculator™!

Clearly current video game corporations such as Nintendo and Sony should switch to developing games for 'Paper.' The Handheld, and possibly even Console, markets are dead. There is no going back.

'Paper' is the future.

#20665 Do you think Nintendo should move to the iPhone?

Posted by Wertville on 11 August 2011 - 05:50 PM

At first I was like "Hell, no,' but I think this is the perfect 'Opportunity' for Nintendo :D

You might think I'm suddenly crazy, but if Ninty could get away with charging a dollar for a single level of Mario 3DS, then sticking a 'Want more? BUY A 3DS!' thingy at the end, they would see HUGE sales boosts. And make a profit from the app 'Game' :P

Douby Apple would let them, though :P
